Artemis II has officially launched, sending humans beyond Earth orbit and back toward the Moon for the first time since Apollo.

The mission is following a carefully designed free return trajectory. The spacecraft travels from Earth toward the Moon, swings around it using gravity, and then naturally returns home without needing a major engine burn to come back.

It is one of the safest paths ever used in spaceflight. Even in an emergency, the physics of this trajectory helps guide the crew back to Earth.

What you’re seeing is not just a line through space. It is a precise balance of gravity, motion, and timing that makes the entire mission possible.

This is more than a test flight.
This is the beginning of humanity’s return to deep space.

The Earth's atmosphere is structured into five distinct layers, each playing a critical role in sustaining life and shaping our environment. The troposphere is where we live, containing weather, clouds, and aircraft, while the stratosphere holds the vital ozone layer that shields Earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation.

Above that, the mesosphere is where meteors burn up upon entry, creating visible shooting stars. The thermosphere hosts auroras and is where many spacecraft operate, interacting with solar radiation. Beyond this lies the exosphere, the outermost boundary where satellites orbit and the atmosphere gradually fades into space.

Together, these layers act as a protective shield, regulating temperature, blocking harmful radiation, and enabling life to thrive. Many Jewish families eat a ceremonial meal known as the Seder, which involves telling the story of the exodus from Egypt as well as eating various symbolic foods.
