First week of summer. Rainy day outside.
Inside, Anna ISD teachers were still at work.

Today, our Gifted & Talented teachers spent the day collaborating, planning and preparing for the school year ahead — focused on creating meaningful learning experiences that challenge and support students.

Summer break doesn’t stop great educators from getting better.

When Penny Barnes started teaching in Anna ISD nearly four decades ago, the district was just beginning a period of growth that would eventually transform the community for generations to come.

Through every new campus, every new class of students and every season of change, one thing remained consistent — her commitment to kids.

Today, she continues making that same impact as an ESL teacher, helping students from all over the world feel welcomed inside Anna ISD classrooms.

District leaders shared that two separate bond refinancing efforts are projected to save taxpayers nearly $5 million in long-term interest costs.

Tuesday night’s Anna ISD School Board meeting highlighted the many ways the district continues working to support students, staff, and the community.

The board recognized students for achievements in BETA, FFA, UIL academics, and visual arts, including several state and national qualifiers. Rosamond-Sherley Elementary students also led the pledges during the meeting.

Trustees also discussed Coyote Connect, a hybrid learning program designed to provide eligible upperclassmen with more flexibility while maintaining accountability and academic standards.

Thank you to our board members, staff, students, and families who continue investing in the future of Anna ISD.
