Hand spans
Across galaxies
Across “nationalities”
Formalities and pseudo spiritualities
At what cost is the hand spanding
Beyond borders
Fear and hoarders
A hand spand toward Allah
To create new and fresh connection

Trust perfection
Peace be upon he
Even in perplexity
I ask him (saws)
To be next to me
And deprive me not
Of the ecstasy
Of how he connects to me
Though my imperfections be

The fragrance of his praise
Is how I selected these

TO SPEAK WITH THE HOUSE OF ALLAH IS OBLIGATORY!
Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani
So, , may Allah bless his soul, said, “The first thing we have to do when we go to Ka`bah to perform Hajj, `Umrah, or prayer, is to give our salām to the Holy Ka`bah, saying, “As-salāmu `alayka, yā Ka`abatullah! As- salāmu `alayka, yā ! As-salāmu `alayka, yā Baytullah!” As we said before, hear a response coming back, saying, “Wa `alayka ‘s-salām, yā `Abd Allah!” Where is that salām coming from? It is coming from the House of Allah (swt) and from Hajar al-Aswad.
Grandshaykh ق said, “Receiving a salām from the Holy Ka`bah is not like receiving a salām from you and me. Even if you do not hear it, Awlīyāullāh hear, so you must still give it. Whether you hear or not, Ka`bah will answer you, an answer coming from Heavens, carrying all power of Jannah with it!”
Bayt al-Ma`mūr is the Heavenly Ka`bah in the Fourth Heaven where the Prophet (s) prayed when he went to wa ‘l- on the 27th of . That salām is coming from there! That means, you have already been put in the Fourth Heaven; you have established the first step in Heaven. That is why the Fifth Pillar of Islam, Hajj, is very important, not because you go there to go up and down from Makkah to `Arafat, but there are secrets that have been carried along all the way. One of these secrets is that Allah (swt) wants to give those who go for Hajj or `Umrah or to pray there to be established in the Fourth Heaven! Allah’s Mercy is big and huge. That is why, it is a fard, an obligation, to speak with the Holy and say, “As-salāmu `alayka, yā Ka`batullah!”
Some people who don’t know ask, “Why are you talking to it? It doesn’t hear or speak.” When Sayyīdinā `Umar (r) was kissing the Black Stone, the Happy Stone, he said, “You don’t give harm or benefit. If I didn’t see the Prophet (s) kissing you, I would never kiss you.” Today people are dying to kiss the Black Stone. What did Sayyīdinā (r) respond to Sayyīdinā (r), as reported by Ibn `Asakir (r)? He said, “Don’t say that, yā `Umar! That stone is going to witness for you on Judgment Day that you made the Shahadah there.” And Sayyīdinā `Umar (r) said, “Sayyīdinā `Ali (r) saved me in two places in my life,” and that was one of them. So, knowledge changes in different times and places, and you have to keep looking at Hajar al-Aswad or to the Ka`bah when praying there.

THE MERITS OF THE DAY OF ARAFAH CULLED FROM THE SPEECH OF SHAYKH AL-ISLAM ALHAJ IBRAHIM NIASSE RTA CONCERNING THE MONTH OF ZUL HIJJAH
This day, The day of Arafah is a blessing for those who performed the pilgrimage (Hajj) to the Sacred House of Allah and stood on the plain of Arafah. It is also a blessed day for all Muslims wherever they might find themselves in the world.
If you witness this day and struggle to perform worships in it, Allah by His great Favour will grant you the (full) reward of Hajj while you remain at your place in your town. You will be at your town while you reap the merit (in reward) of the one who performed Hajj and stood on the plain of Arafah.
This day has been mentioned by Allah's Messenger (may Allah grant him blessings and give him peace) in what was narrated by Abu Qatadah r.a. He said: "Allah's Messenger (may Allah grant him blessings and give him peace) was asked concerning the fast on the day of Arafah and he said: It is expiation for the year before it and the year after it."
That is, for the fast on this single day, Allah wipes the sins of the previous year and the coming year. It is authentically narrated on the authority of many companions who said: "We used to estimate the fast on the day of Arafah with the worship of two consecutive years."
For this, the fast on the day of Arafah for those who are not on the plain of Arafah (that is those who are not performing the pilgrimage) is a tradition (Sunnah) among the guiding traditions (of Allah's Messenger, may Allah grant him blessings and give him peace) and a great advantage.
In fact, it is authentically narrated from the Prophet may Allah grant him blessings and give him peace that fasting on the day of Arafah is equivalent to (fasting for) ten thousand (10,000) days. Fasting on the days of Zul Hijjah is equivalent to (fasting for) a thousand days, and fasting on the day of Arafah is equivalent to ten thousand days.
For fasting one day (day of Arafah), Allah gives you reward (in merit) for fasting for ten thousand days in the days of this World.
It is indeed a great matter and indeed a big merit. A sound believer (Mu'min) whose faith is perfect ought to take advantage of this day (that is, seek to reap the fruits of it) or strive in it.

O Allah accept the pilgrimage of those who are able to perform it. O Allah grant us the promised blessings and benefits of this day and the full blessings of Hajj wherever we may be. Amin.

"HAJJ IS `ARAFAT"
Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani
Why do we all go to the Plain of `Arafat?
قال النبي (s): “الحجُّ عرفةُ.”
Prophet (s) said, “Hajj is `Arafat.” (Īmām Nawawī in his Majmu`at.)
This means, if you do not go to `Arafat, then there is no Hajj. Three or five million people stand there, calling on Allah (swt) in one voice:
Here I am at Your service, O Allah, here I am! Here I am at Your service! You have no partner, here I am at Your service. For You alone is All Praise and All Grace, and for You alone is The Sovereignty. You have no partner!
Who is in `Arafat that brings all these people together? There must be someone to whom the Prophet (s) gave authority from Allah (swt). You look and see that it is a plain desert. Now they have nice trees and water coming from everywhere and better tents, but in reality, it is a desert. What is there?
What is in `Arafah? There must be something hidden. Even if you just go to the Valley of `Arafat, without making any du`ā or šalāwāt, just your presence there will completely purify you as if you were a newly born baby. There, Allah (swt) comes to the First Heaven, looks at His Servants and forgives them all, as the rest of Ummat an-Nabī (s) cannot be left without the Shower of Mercy of the Merciful One, which Sayyīdinā Muhammad (s) distributes.

LESSONS FROM HAJJ 3: CALL ON YOUR LORD, POUR YOUR HEART OUT TO HIM
Pain, sadness, and difficulty are important as they propel us towards safety and direct us back to the state Allah wants us to be in. When we are in difficulty, pain, illness, grief, worried, afraid, lonely, or depressed, we become conscious of relying on Allah and we remember Him more. It is from His Endless Mercy that we suffer and return!
Hajj erases negative energy and showers us, purifies us, redirects our focus to Allah and builds us up again. Even if you are not on Hajj, in the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah and other times of the year you can still take baraka by fasting, reading more Quran, reciting tahlil "Laa ilaaha illa-Llaah" and salawat excessively, do more dhikrullah, give more sadaqa, , help others, etc.

TRAVEL WITH FULL BELIEF
Mawlana Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqani ق
Everyone who took this way, started by believing in the Unseen. They said, “There is a Ka`bah over there, walk and see if you reach the glorious Ka`bah!” In the old times they went to the desert. The camels and hujjaaj passed through the desert, sinking into the sand up to their knees, believing in the Ka`bah that they didn’t see. They passed through the desert with love. Finally, they would find the Ka`bah.
Now our way is also like that. We walk by believing in the Unseen. That’s why we are obliged to believe in the Unseen. If it were already visible, there would be no need to say, “Believe in this.” You should believe here and go into the desert. You’ll pass those deserts and find the Ka`bah. You’ll be the guest of the Lord of the Ka`bah.
Anyone who has hope will go to the Ka`bah. Whoever cuts the road to the Ka`bah, Allah (swt) will cut his life! They will be judged as unbelievers. Allah (swt) orders everyone who has financial and physical power, to go and visit the Ka`bah. No one can set conditions. When you do, you’ll be judged as an unbeliever. It isn’t an easy matter. We believe in the Unseen. We have peace inside that we will reach what we believe day by day. That’s why a believer thinks of the day he will reach Allah (swt) and feels an endless peace that the unbeliever is deprived of. We will meet Allah (swt)! We are going to Allah (swt)! We are going to Allah (swt)! We are approaching day by day!

IN DHUL-HIJJAH, SACRIFICE YOUR ANGER
Dhul-Hijjah is the month of sacrifice, and what is the best sacrifice for Allah’s sake? To stop committing sins, forbiddens, and to keep our anger down. Our duty is to sacrifice our ego by putting anger under our feet. When you get angry, say, "astaghfirullah". That is what Allah (swt) likes, for us to stop carrying or wearing bad characteristics.
People get angry from Shaytan, who is chained in Dhul-Hijjah. If you make a sacrifice to Allah and say, “Ya Rabbee! I’m going to try to not do anything bad this month. Help me!” do you think Allah (swt) will leave you to Shaytan? In Dhul-Hijjah we have to sacrifice our egos from bad desires, and the trunk of the tree of bad desires is anger.

THE PROFOUND MERCY OF BISMILLAHI 'R-RAḤMĀNI R-RAḤĪM
Whoever recites “Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem”, for every letter 40,000 rewards will be written for him and 40,000 sins will be removed from him and he will be raised 40,000 levels. [Daylami]
Ibn `Abbas (radhiAllahu anhu) said that the Prophet (s) said, “Whoever reads ‘Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem”, the angels can hear every letter you recite even if they are in the West and you are in the East, even if they are in Paradise they can hear it, and they will say ‘Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem’ on your behalf and the rewards will be written for you until the Day of Judgement.” This is from the Mercy of Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem!
If you say “Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem” Allah will reward you 4,000 hasanaat (goodness), so from nineteen letters, let’s say twenty to make the calculation easier: 20 x 4,000 = 80,000. Allah will give you nearly 80,000 hasanaat for every letter of Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem that you recite! Wa muhiya `anhu arba`a alf sayyi`aat.
And from every letter, Allah will erase 4,000 sayyi`aat (sins). So are you making 4,000 sins a day?! Hopefully not. How many breaths do you breathe every minute? Every breath in and out is around 18,000 for the whole day. So on every breath in and out will be written for you and take from you sayyi`aat, for that one who recites "Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem".
Allah (swt) will also dress you with all these hasanaat and not only that, He will change your sayyi`aat to ten hasanaat, not just erasing them. So if you recite "Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem" a hundred times, you are ending with millions!
No one can do this calculation; it is so much that you cannot count.
