The Wallenberg Medal and Lecture continues to recognize outstanding humanitarians whose work perpetuates U-M alumnus Raoul Wallenberg’s extraordinary accomplishments and human values.
Today marks the 80th anniversary of the disappearance of 🇸🇪 diplomat who saved tens of thousands of Jews from the . Wallenberg is a role model for everyone who believes in freedom, equality, and solidarity.
In 1981, he became an honorary citizen of the United States. Today, there are numerous monuments, statues, buildings and other works of art dedicated to Wallenberg across the 🇺🇸. In Washington, DC, for example, the US Holocaust Memorial Museum is located on Raoul Wallenberg Place.
Let us honor his memory by continuing to stand up against antisemitism and racism - because .
