Business+Impact is proud to announce the U-M student recipients of the Michigan Ross Nonprofit Governance Endorsement for excellence in the Golub Capital Nonprofit Board Fellows Program. As part of the endorsement, students engaged as non-voting members of a local nonprofit for the academic year, completed a curated project, and enrolled in an educational workshop series. Playworks Michigan, launched in 2010, has grown into a $1.6 million organization that reaches thousands of students in low-income schools each year. Playworks was also a partner with our Golub Capital Board Fellows Program last academic year and this academic year. UM students Jasmin Lopez (MBA '26); Monica Dick (MBA '27) and Haley Viall (MBA '27) worked on brand experience development, attracting younger donors, and corporate sponsorships for the organization. A filmmaker, entrepreneur and social sector investor who once led our unit at U-M – Rishi Moudgil is now the executive director of the Michigan Founders Fund. The fund hosts Michigan Tech Week, which takes place May 19-21 at Michigan Central. The speaker list includes a number of successful founders such as Dug Song, Branko Kerkez, Jim Adox and Zhen Xu, who share Moudgil’s love for maize and blue.
