Hello Friends! We have a wonderful event this Friday. The Weiser Center for Emerging Democracies is presenting U of M students with an opportunity to speak with students studying at L'viv University. The video conference will be held Friday, March 21, 9-10:30 am at The International Institute (1080 S. University). It will be an amazing opportunity to hear about the ongoing events in Ukraine from those experiencing them first-hand!

Join us at this week's Roundtable Discussion hosted by the International Institute to discuss the current crisis in Ukraine. We will be joined by professors from numerous departments of the university, to address domestic and international implications of ongoing events in Ukraine. The Slavic Department is offering a 1–credit mini course on artist, poet, and visionary Taras Shevchenko, which will begin next week. The course will run Feb 27–April 17, and will meet on Thursdays 3–5pm. This is a humanties credit that also qualifies for minors in Cultures & Literatures of Eastern Europe, and is taught in English.

Please join us on March 29th for a benefit concert to support victims of the EuroMaidan Conflict. This event will feature traditional Ukrainian music and raise money to help the victims of this conflict. Presented by violinist Solomia Soroka, and pianist Arthur Greene, sponsored by the University of Michigan Weiser Center.
