The Greek Life Sustainability Team (GLiST) is a student organization that seeks to encourage sustainable behavior within the Greek community at Michigan.
GLiST aims to achieve behavior change towards sustainable practices in the Greek community: one that has been generally resistant to such ideas. By focusing on Greek life, GLiST seeks to materialize a culture shift in a large and active part of the University community, which can then join the ranks of other sustainable-minded circles. Program at University of Michigan gives fraternities discounts on red Solo cups if they hit 35%... Twenty-five men living in the same fraternity house can generate a lot of garbage, including the debris of social events heavy on bottles, cans and plastic cups that are often trashed instead of recycled.
Come check out the Divest and Invest Campaign's "Divest on the Diag" tomorrow from 10am-2pm as part of Earth Week 2013! GLIST will have a table there so feel free to stop by, say hello, and find out what we're up to these days.
