University of Michigan Center on Finance, Law, and Policy is hosting Consumer Protection in an Age of Uncertainty, a two-day conference at the University of Michigan.
The conference will explore the status of consumer financial protection as it affects American workers, borrowers (including student borrowers), investors, small business owners and those planning for retirement. Rich Cordray, founding director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Rohit Chopra, commissioner at the Federal Trade Commission will serve as keynote speakers. The other two dozen speakers will include researchers, policymakers, rule-enforcers — and a number of speakers who have testified before Congress, organized coalitions, litigated class actions, and created new entities to protect consumers.
