SHOEBOX Screens at Michigan Theater TONIGHT!
The Center for South Asian Studies (CSAS) launches the new South Asian Film Series, curated by Lecturer Veerendra Prasad, tonight, October 18, 2023, with the screening of SHOEBOX (2021)!
Faraz Ali, director and co-writer with Noopur Sinha, will be in attendance after the screening to discuss the film. “Shoebox is an exploration of the evolving urban landscape in India, particularly through the lens of Allahabad's transformation,” says Ali as he describes the film. “It encapsulates the struggle to preserve identity, memory, and heritage in the face of rapid development and change."

FVSA is partnering with NEON to host an early screening of their upcoming film, IT LIVES INSIDE -- TODAY, Thursday, September 21, at 7pm, in CHEM 1300. There will be free merch and posters!
The film follows an Indian-American teenager struggling with her cultural identity who has a falling out with her former best friend and, in the process, unwittingly releases a demonic entity that grows stronger by feeding on her loneliness.
