Katelyn Dybdahl made the Skyline High School girls' swim team as a freshman last year, then spent most of that season in hospitals and pain clinics as her health took a turn. Now she’s back on deck for every practice of the fall season.
Katelyn lives with several conditions, including spina bifida, a connective tissue disorder, and paralysis that requires her to use a wheelchair. In the pool, she swims freestyle and backstroke, adapting each set to what her body can handle that day.
"Adapting is not about doing less," she said. "It is about finding a way to keep doing something that I love."
Her coach calls her an essential part of the team. Her teammates call her an inspiration. Full story: https://shorturl.at/YoTdu

Thank you to NSK and the many community donors who took part in this year's 19th Annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive. Staff spent time today sorting and organizing the donations for distribution to schools across the district. What a wonderful way to kick off the new school!

Exciting news: Adrienne Schadler, an incoming senior at Skyline High School, turned in a standout performance at the Toyota U.S. Open Nationals—advancing and competing across all five days of the meet as the only swimmer from her team to do so.
At the competition held July 31 through August 1, Adrienne placed 24th overall in the 100-meter freestyle with a best time of 56.16, earning her a spot in the 18-and-under final. She followed that up with a strong showing at the Speedo Junior National Championships, where she posted best times in every event, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the 200-meter freestyle at 2:00.22—a time ranked among the top 150 globally—along with a third-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle at 4:15.76. She also secured top-10 finishes in both the 800-meter freestyle (8:53.41) and the 100-meter freestyle (55.88), with the latter ranked 14th nationally among 17- and 18-year-olds.
Beyond the results in the pool, the experience was deeply rewarding, Adrienne said.
“Getting to spend two full weeks in California with my mom made the trip incredibly special, giving us time and moments that i’ll cherish just as much as my races,” she said. “I am so thankful for this opportunity and thrilled to see all the hard work with my coaches paid off on such a major stage. Looking ahead, I’m really excited for the next chapter of my swimming career, especially competing at Skyline and Club Wolverine, chasing the big goals I've set for myself."
