In light of recent events, it’s become clear that the Supreme Court ruling will devastate any child bearing person- and often those who are relegated to margins of society - who will no longer have the choice to have an abortion and may actively be criminalized.
While abortion rights are currently protected in Michigan, there is no saying in what could happen next. Lean In at the University of Michigan strongly supports access to abortion services, and we stand in soldiarity with all those fighting for reproductive rights. We must move forward as a society and take action, and hope you can join us as well. We’ve included several resources to stay informed on this situation as well as additional ways to effectively help.

We are hosting a campus-wide, gender-focused Speaker Panel event featuring female local Michigan business owners. This event is aimed at giving valuable and concrete insight on what it means to be a leader as a female in the business world, through structured speakers and open sessions, to young women at the University. The event is open to all UofM students, so feel free to invite your friends + RSVP at the link in our bio!

Change doesn’t happen with a hashtag. It happens with consistent action. Dismantling systemic racism is a collective effort that requires constant practice and consistent action.
We stand in solidarity against the systemic racism and police brutality that led to the horrific murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Nina Pop, Tony McDade, and many others.
We’re working as a team to understand how we can take meaningful action that consistently supports BIPOC communities on campus and beyond. This week, we’re matching donations of up to $1,000 (so $2,000 total, if the goal is met) to be split evenly and donated to the Detroit Justice Center, NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, and the ACLU.
