How much control do we use/have when either doing the Tai Chi Form or projecting intentional Chi to others?

There are limitations.

Tai Chi - If you exercise too much control when practicing you may lose the flow and hinder the organic process of sensing the body.

Chi Kung (Qigong) - In trying to intentionally control the direction of Chi, as in wanting a specific effect on another for health purposes, we may find that we miss what that person may really need.

Since the foot placements and how one steps are the foundation of the Tai Chi Form, it's a good beginning for someone who may need to take it slow (pun intended 😄).

People are asking me if I’ve ever heard of Tai Chi Walking… It’s just another way people are trying to generate interest/income. Most everything I’ve seen is extracted out of the tai chi form. It is almost the same way that people are trying to rebrand mindfulness, grounding, and meditation. The main benefit, I see, is that people who can’t learn tai chi, for whatever reason, can still benefit from the mindfulness it brings to feeling, mindfully placing the feet and paying attention to the shifting of weight. I prefer the first four exercises of the 8 Methods that Professor Cheng man-Ching designed… Wearing the Moon, Walking on Ice, Wading the Stream, and Skulling. Three of which I have provided previously.
