Tomorrow is the big day!! Can’t wait to see everyone 😄

Apparently, I'm not the best at taking pictures, but our first playground playdate was a success! The kiddos loved getting soaked on the new splash pad at Bicentennial Park, and Ms. Cucu wants to take the whole school on a walking field trip there (best of luck! 😆). Can't wait to see our 2nd and 3rd grade families tomorrow from 4:30-5:30pm! I highly suggest wearing Mitchell wear, if you or your kiddos have any, so we can find each other!

Popsicles on the Playground date has been announced! Join us Tuesday, August 25, 2:30pm-3:30pm to learn your child's class placement, meet their teacher, and enjoy a popsicle! (Please use the entrance off Lorraine between construction areas. Do not enter or block construction areas.)

Ann Arbor PTO Council Board supports the renewal of the sinking fund millage!

- We desire to see our educators receive the contract they deserve.
- Teacher salaries are paid out of the General Fund.
- Not renewing the sinking fund means that expenses typically paid out of the sinking fund will come from the General Fund.
- Simply put: If voters do not pass the sinking fund renewal, there will be even less money available to pay teachers.

Vote YES on or before August 4th!

Our summer food program starts next week.
This summer we'll be offering breakfast and lunch at Abbot, Carpenter and Tappan. Meals will be provided for students in our summer school programs and all kids kindergarten through 12th grade. Food must be consumed on-site.

Our Mitchell/Scarlett community is once again facing a difficult situation. On Wednesday, a Scarlett (former Mitchell) student's parent was detained by ICE after dropping their child off at school. As you can imagine, this has created tremendous uncertainty and hardship for the family. While there may be many ways our community may be able to offer support in the weeks ahead, our ability to communicate with the school community may be limited over the summer months, and we know we can help right now by providing financial assistance.

Because the school year is ending in just a few days, we do not have enough time to wait for the family, clearly in distress, to set up a GoFundMe. Instead, we are collecting donations directly and will provide the funds to the family by the last day of school so they can access support as quickly as possible.

If you would like to contribute (any amount is appreciated), please Venmo Kelly Pfeifer, Scarlett PTSO President (-Pfeifer-17; last four digits of phone number: 1185), who will convert donations into cash for the family. [Mitchell families may also send cash in a clearly labeled envelope marked "PTO” or “Scarlett Family in Need" to the front office.]

Please send any donations no later than Monday at noon.
