Registration is now open for Hinoki Online Talk International Exchange @ 7:40pm on Wed. 7/5 & Wed. 7/12!
2023年ひのきオンライントーク国際交流は7月5日と7月12日(水曜日)午後7時40分〜8時40分です。
PLEASE CLICK THE BELOW LINK TO REGISTER FOR EITHER OR BOTH SESSIONS (Sessions 5 & 7)!
Each breakout room includes a variety of ages and Japanese ability levels, supported by a bilingual facilitator.
Participants engage in conversation with high school students in Japan, first in English (for about 15 minutes), and then in Japanese (for about 15 minutes).

各部屋ではバイリンガルの先生の監督の元、最初の15分間は英語で、次の15分間は日本語で会話をします。

Don't get rusty over the summer! Hinoki Juku Japanese practice starts Monday, June 5th!
スタートは6月5日から！この夏もたくさん日本語を使いましょう！
Hinoki Juku Japanese is free online tutoring for Japanese learners on Monday evenings! Hinoki Foundation invites grade K-12 students to practice Japanese conversation or ask Japanese-related questions to Japanese-English bilingual teachers.　
ひのき塾日本語部はキンダーから12年生の日本語を習得中の生徒が、バイリンガルの先生と一緒に、会話の練習をしたり、日本語に関することを何でも質問できる無料のオンライン教室です。
Participants will also have the chance for live online conversations with high schoolers in Shiga prefecture on 2 Wednesday evenings (7/5 & 7/12)!
更に今年は、日本の滋賀県の高校生とのオンライン交流会も体験できます！（7/5と7/12の水曜日）
There will also be a storytime room for students in grade 2 and under, where they can hear Japanese stories from children's picture books.

This year's MJQB will be a combined Michigan Japanese Quiz Bowl & Culture Festa, on the U-M campus in Ann Arbor, on Sunday 3/5! The Culture Festa will include a Hinoki Kai celebration, featuring cultural displays, demonstrations, & activities led by participants in Hinoki Foundation's "Kids and College Students" program! Please check it out!

At its Dec. 2022 meeting, JTAM decided to host a combined Michigan Japanese Quiz Bowl & Culture Festa this year!
It will be held on Sunday, March 5, at Angell Hall on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

The deadline for JTAM members to register teams for the MJQB competition portion is this Friday, Feb. 3, 2023.

In addition to the quiz bowl, JTAM is collaborating with Hinoki Foundation, U-M Animania Club, and other groups to offer lots of free, fun activities on site that day, to make it more of a celebration of Japanese culture and language!
