Multicultural Academy We are a tuition-free, public academy that educates students from KG to High School.

Multicultural Academy first opened their doors in 2004 to serve students PreK through High School in a positive and enriching environment. Our school is staffed by highly qualified teachers who effectively manage our small classroom sizes and facilitate an environment that allows all students to be seen and heard equally regardless of race, religion, or socio-economic status. We have special programs that include an ELL program, foreign language, physical education, full day kindergarten, extended day tutoring, and an after school program that includes homework help and computer skills.

Day 2 of Junior DPS Academy—and the intensity went up!
Today was all about hands-on training, real emergency response, quick decisions, teamwork, and learning directly from the professionals who serve our community every day.
This is what meaningful community partnership looks like. Through our collaboration with the Pittsfield Department of Public Safety, our students aren’t just learning about public safety—they’re experiencing it.

A BIG day at Multicultural Academy as we launched our cohort 2 of the innovative Junior DPS Academy in partnership with the Pittsfield Department of Public Safety!
For five days, selected high school students will learn alongside police, fire, EMS, and public safety professionals—experiencing leadership, teamwork, service, and career possibilities firsthand.
Proud to bring this innovative community partnership to our Academy. Junior DPS Academy is officially underway!

Hopping into big math challenges! 🦘🧮✨ Multicultural Academy students in grades 1-6 are putting their problem-solving skills to the test in the Math Kangaroo International Competition Screening Platform! Proud of our thinkers for giving it their best! One problem at a time! 💙🌟 20 students will be picked from grades 1-6 to compete in the Kangaroo Math Competition! Go MA!

WISD offers free, online workshops on a variety of mental health topics for Washtenaw County parents, caregivers, school staff, and adults who work with children. Our first workshop of the 2026-27 school year is Tuesday, October 13 at 7:00 p.m.

We are excited to have UM child psychologist, Alejandra Arango, PhD provide us with practical tools for understanding and supporting youth experiencing depression, including how to recognize signs and understand su***de risk and prevention. We’ll also focus on the importance of connection and offer practical strategies for strengthening relationships with youth, navigating common barriers, and responding in ways that support their well-being.
