Bilingual House (formerly known as “May’s Chinese-English School”) is a high-quality Chinese immersion child development program. Welcome to Our Program!
We have been serving infants , toddlers, and preschoolers in Ann Arbor and surrounding cities since 2007. May’s Chinese School is a high-quality child development program. We not only provide immersion Chinese language teaching, but also provide age and developmentally appropriate curriculums and best opportunities for your child’s physical, social, and emotional development. What Makes Us Unique?
We provide immersion Chinese language teaching as a big plus service without extra charges
Although Chinese language learning is one of the focuses of the program, we offer a developmentally age-appropriate balanced curriculum (approved by EMU professors), which incorporates speaking, reading, mathematical, and critical thinking skills. The character building activities enhance your child's self-esteem and encourage good moral habits. By providing high-quality child care, May and her assistant teachers will well prepare your child for entering kindergarten and future successes. As a matter of fact, one of our daycare children, Lorraine Smith, was admitted to Emerson School of Ann Arbor with full scholarship in September, 2012! Our program has been observed and approved by college professors and the experts from Council for Professional Recognition (http://www.cdacouncil.org/)
Highly qualified teachers with degrees in early childhood
Small group size and low teacher-child ratios mean lots of individual attention for your child’s safety and education. Our teacher-child ratios 1:2-1:6, while big centers’ 1:4-1:15! Our environment is home-like rather than institutional. The comfortable household furniture and equipment give the children homey feeling and reduce their stress and separation anxiety. Our location is perfect for outdoor exploration. Mallets Creek Public Library, Cobble Stone Farm, Buhr Park, Rose Park, and County Farm Park are all within 5 minutes walking distance. When the weather is good, we often go to attend the library’s preschool events, visit the famous farm, and have field trips in the parks. We bought a 6-seat stroller just for this purpose.
We use educational new technologies in our classroom. For example, we use iPad to teach abstract concepts, show images/cartoons, learn music, recognize letters/numbers, etc. We often clean our toys, carpets, and equipment to prevent diseases. So give us a call or send us an email ([email protected]). We are confident that we can make a big positive difference in your child’s future.

May’s Bilingual Preschool is a high quality early childhood bilingual education program where children grow and thrive.
Cultural activities are very important for children to form their own identities, values, and self-esteem.
We learn Chinese culture and celebrate many Chinese festivals.
We use many different ways to tell stories, Cut-N-Tell, Draw-N-tell, Storygami, and much more for early literacy, language, and fine muscle skill development.
This is a Draw-N-Tell activity.
Our activities involve in many aspects of child development.
In this activity, our students learned numbers (for math skills) and practiced writing (fine motor skills) after a fun wheelbarrow game (gross motor skills).
