As the school year comes to an end, many students find themselves focused on final exams. 📚 For seniors, the last year of high school is often filled with university entry requirements, deadlines, and pressure. It’s a busy season, and so much can seem to come down to a test. 📝

But should that be the only way we measure learning? 💭 At Clonlara, we believe a student’s learning journey can’t be represented by a final exam. 💚 We see learning as a continuous process of discovery, growth, academic development, and real-world experience that extends far beyond one moment of assessment.

That’s why our evaluation process looks beyond content knowledge. We invite students to think critically, express creativity, communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and build confidence in their abilities.

Dreaming of exploring the world without putting education on hold? 🌎✈️

That’s exactly what inspired Helena’s family to choose Clonlara School. 💚 “I received great references and chose this path so we could travel as a family without compromising the quality of our children’s education,” her mother shares.

With the freedom to learn from anywhere, Helena’s journey took her across England and France and even included a few months living in Amsterdam! Along the way, learning became deeply connected to real life.

“I conducted my research by analyzing Dutch consumer behavior and visiting second-hand clothing shops in Amsterdam and Utrecht. In my presentation, I described what I observed and the many benefits that sustainable and second-hand fashion bring to society, the environment, and the fashion industry.” 🏷️🛍️

At Clonlara, Helena loved connecting subjects and building projects around her interests, going beyond a traditional curriculum. Literature, for example, became a gateway to understanding history in a more meaningful way. 📚 In fact, becoming an engaged reader was one of her proudest achievements!

“I chose to read books written by women, an interest that led me to explore women’s experiences throughout history and to learn about remarkable feminists who fought for women's rights.” This passion even led her to create a student club where she shared her discoveries about women authors such as Jane Austen and Clarice Lispector.

Looking back, Helena feels prepared not only academically, but personally. 🌟 “Through cultural learning experiences, meaningful projects, fieldwork, and strong pedagogical support, I was empowered in many ways to grow as a person, developing creativity and resilience.”
