Construction for the Creating More Together Campaign has been happening all summer, and we're excited for families to see what's taking shape on the Earhart Campus. New classrooms are up, there's more on-campus parking than ever, lockers and forums moved, and so much more families will get to see when they're back.

There are still several weeks of summer left, but you wouldn’t know it from the energy on campus this week. The founding faculty and staff of lower school program are here early, spending the week together planning, learning, asking questions, sharing ideas, and thinking deeply about the experience they want to create for our youngest students.
We’re enormously grateful to this remarkable group for bringing such care, creativity, and commitment to the work before the first student even walks through the door. Something special is taking shape here, and we can’t wait to welcome our founding lower school families and begin.

Earlier this summer, upper school Spanish students embarked on a 10-day language immersion trip to Costa Rica. Their adventure was packed with zip-lining, snorkeling, cooking traditional cuisine, watching sunsets at the beach, visiting the active Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, and observing wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, frogs, and even a baby boa constrictor.
Throughout the trip, the tour director spoke exclusively in Spanish, and students asked thoughtful questions about Costa Rican perspectives on the environment and education. Their language journey was further enriched by daily classes at Wayra Language Institute in Tamarindo and conversations with local teachers.
The most thrilling memory of the entire trip was white-water rafting. As they navigated the rapids, students looked out for one another and worked together to stay afloat. It was one of many moments that reinforced the trip’s most valuable takeaways: teamwork through tough moments, pride in improving their conversational Spanish, openness to exploration, and the joy of new experiences.

Our lower school program at the Arbor Hills Campus continues to take shape.
Since we first introduced our founding faculty in the spring, two additional educators have joined the team. As this group grows, so does the possibility of what they are building together: a lower school experience where students are known well, challenged thoughtfully, and welcomed into a joyful community of learning.

Final exams looked a little different in each class last week. While some courses called for a traditional test or essay, others invited students to demonstrate their learning through culminating presentations, debates, projects, and reflections.
