Yesterday, our school gathered for our first Faith Families meeting of the year! Each Faith Family is led by a teacher or staff member and brings together a small group of students from every grade, kindergarten through eighth grade. These students may not normally be in that teacher’s classroom, giving everyone a special opportunity to build relationships across our school.

Each month, Faith Families will gather to pray, learn, and grow in faith together. Students also received prayer partners within their families. What a wonderful way to come together as one faith-filled school community! 💚

Today, our students were invited to wear blue in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. What a beautiful way to celebrate her life and remember the loving example she sets for us each day. Happy Birthday, Mother Mary! 💙

Our wonderful Kindergarten students started the year in Art class by creating beautiful dot artwork centered around hearts and crosses—a meaningful reminder that faith and love are at the center of all we do. ✝️🎨

On Friday, Ms. Cowie’s 4th graders earned the first Longhorn Buck Party of the year—in just the first three days of school! 🎉

The class voted for Mrs. Hade and Mrs. Hazel to join them for lunch in the classroom, and they had a blast swapping jokes, laughing, and getting to hang out together. Way to go, Ms. Cowie’s class, for starting the year strong and living out our Longhorn Way! 💙

The 5th graders were rewarded with a sweet celebration today to congratulate them for being the grade with the most participants in our Summer Reading Challenge!!

5th grade also had our top reader with Emmet reading 12,076 pages this summer. That averages over 130+ pages per day!

What an awesome first day!! Our building was full of smiles, excitement, and so much great energy as we kicked off a brand-new school year! We are so excited to be back and can’t wait to see you all again tomorrow! 💚

As we are wrapping up the Summer Reading program, we are want to highlight all of our Battle of the Books participants from last year! Congratulations to all 81 students who participated in Battle of the Books last year!

After the in-school Battle, we had three 3rd Grade Teams, three 4th/5th Grade Teams, and three 6th-8th Grade teams advance to compete at the Diocesan Level!

St. Luke's won:
1st place Middle School Division
3rd Place 4th/5th Grade Divison
1st Pace 3rd Grade Divison
We also had 2 more teams advance to the tie breaker rounds for 2nd/3rd places.

We are so proud of all of all of the months of hard work and preparation that everyone put in. Great work, students!
