Time flies when you're having fun, so make sure you're ready to go when parties, field trips, and volunteer opportunities come up! ✨🎉

Each school year parents and families of students will need to complete the volunteer sign up process. While the application process takes a few minutes, the background check may take up to 2 weeks to clear, so it's important to complete with plenty of time before an event. If you start now you'll be all set for the school year!

Complete these steps to volunteer at Rock Creek this school year:

It's time to make it official! 🍎✨

Rock Creek has had had a few wonderful days getting to know our kindergarten students, introducing them to all of our amazing teachers, and helping them settle into school routines!

We're excited to welcome families to our Kindergarten Meet the Teacher event tonight, August 27th from 4-6pm. Families will meet their official kindergarten teacher, see the classroom, and have the chance for students to connect. We can't wait to kick off an incredible school year together!

It was another great day of learning, community & connection at Rock Creek! 💙

Our classrooms were buzzing with curiosity, collaboration & joy as students continued getting to know their teachers, classmates & their new learning spaces. From meaningful conversations to hands-on learning & plenty of smiles, it was clear that something special is happening in our classrooms.

We’re building more than knowledge—we’re building relationships, confidence & a strong sense of belonging. 🫶🏼

Two days in & we already have so much to celebrate! Here’s to another year of growing, learning & doing it together at Rock Creek! 🐾💙

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome our Rock Creek students back to Rock Creek TOMORROW MORNING! 🎒✨ The classrooms are ready, the teachers are excited & we can’t wait to see all of those smiling faces & first-day outfits.

To make sure our first morning & afternoon run as smoothly & safely as possible, please take a quick moment to review our Arrival and Dismissal Guidelines:

🚗 The Drop-Off / Pick-Up Lane

Keep it moving! This lane is for continuous loading and unloading only. No parking or leaving your vehicle unattended.

Keep aisles clear: Please do not block parked cars or stop in the driving lanes.

🅿️ Walking Up to Meet Your Child?

Park legally: Please park in a designated, marked spot before exiting your vehicle.

If the lot is full: Please do not create makeshift spots. Circle back and wait for a legal space to open up.

🦺 Pedestrian Safety First

Use the crosswalk: Always cross the drop-off lane at the white crossbars.

Listen to our Safety Guard: Wait for assistance and never cut between buses or cars.

Ms. Weesner graduated from Iowa State this past spring. She is very excited to get started this school year, and we’re thrilled to have her join our staff!

A few fun things Ms. Weesner would like you to know:

🍎 I love to read!! I enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction books!
🏫 I grew up in Ankeny and graduated from Ankeny Centennial!
👨‍🏫 I love to bake! This summer I got to spend a bunch of time baking with my sister, which has been awesome!!

Welcome to our RC family!

Please join us in welcoming Laura Steiert to Rock Creek Elementary School as our new AELP teacher!

Mrs. Steiert brings 7 years of teaching experience in the Ankeny Community School District to Rock Creek, and we’re so excited to have her join our staff! She previously taught both 1st and 4th Grade at Prairie Trail Elementary.

A couple fun things to know about Mrs. Steiert:

🍎 She has an 8-month-old son named Tate at home who is just the happiest boy! She and her husband also have 2 dogs - a German Shepard/Husky mix and a Mini Goldendoodle.

🏫 She graduated with both her Bachelors and Master's degree from the University of Iowa - you can find her cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. Go Hawks!

Welcome to RC & 5th grade!

Please join us in welcoming Alayna Clark to Rock Creek Elementary School as our new 5th Grade Teacher!

Mrs. Clark brings 8 years of teaching experience from positions in both Urbandale and Ankeny to Rock Creek, and we’re so excited to have her join our staff!

A few fun things Mrs. Clark wants you to know:
🍎 5th grade was my first teaching job, and I am so excited to be back!
🏫 I grew up in Ankeny and graduated from Ankeny Centennial. This is also my 9th year coaching the Centennial Varsity Dance Team - Go Jags!
👨‍🏫 My husband is also a teacher, and we have an (almost) 3-year-old son named Graham! He is SO much fun!

I cannot wait to meet my new students and start my experience at Rock Creek Elementary!
