Congratulations to our JA BizTown Citizen of the Year, Jayden! 🌟

We're excited to recognize Jayden E. from Heritage Elementary in the Ankeny Community School District as our JA BizTown Citizen of the Year!

Nominated by their teacher, Jayden stood out for consistently demonstrating the qualities that make a great citizen. Whether working with classmates, taking on challenges, or leading by example, Jayden embodies the values we hope every young leader carries into their community. At JA BizTown, students have the opportunity to practice real-world skills, but it's students like Jayden who remind us that character is just as important as any job title.

We are so proud of this well-deserved recognition and can't wait to see all the amazing things Jayden accomplishes in the future. Congratulations, Jayden! 🎉

We reached our WIG (wildly important goal) for kindness! Together, Heritage students made over 62,000 deposits into the Emotional Bank Accounts of others! Students voted to celebrate this goal achievement by playing games with their “class buddies!” Way to go, Heritage!

Our Leader Squad hosted our final guest for our school-wide Learn from a Leader session! Our students voted to learn from an actress, so we were so thankful Vivian Powell could join us today! Vivian is an Ankeny Centennial senior who is headed to Drake next year to major in acting. Vivian has been on the stage for many plays, musicals, show choir, and speech! She shared how important it to use habit #3, put first things first, to help her be prepared for her performances. She also shared a great message: sometimes you audition and don’t get picked, but don’t give up! If you keep practicing, maybe you’ll get picked the next time!
