We’re excited to welcome our newest students to Terrace Preschool!

⭐ Meet the Teacher Night- August 27

This is a special opportunity for your preschooler and family to explore Terrace together! Students will get to see their classroom, meet their teacher, and become familiar with their school environment. Families will also complete a fun scavenger hunt designed to help students feel more comfortable and confident about coming to school. Please note the time is dependent on whether your student is in the AM or PM section.

Be sure to visit the PTO table during Meet the Teacher Night to learn more about our organization, upcoming events, and ways to get involved. Whether you have a little time or a lot, we’d love to have you join us! You can sign up, ask questions, and find out how the PTO helps support our students, staff, and school community.

⭐ Preschool Jumpstart– August 28

Each preschool student will be assigned a one-hour time slot to attend school (more information about your assigned time will be shared soon). This short practice day gives students a chance to experience a typical preschool routine with fewer children, helping make the first full day of school a little smoother. It’s also the perfect opportunity for families to practice drop-off and pick-up procedures.

Teachers will help students learn routines such as:
• Walking in a line
• Using their locker
• Washing hands
• Sitting on the carpet
• Transitioning between activities

Establishing these routines early helps set everyone up for a successful year!

We can’t wait to welcome our preschoolers and kick off a fantastic school year! 🎒✏️🏫

Backpack Blitz is this Saturday, August 1 at Southview Middle School! PK-12 students can enter door W13 from 9am - 1pm to receive free backpacks and school supplies!

Need school supplies for the upcoming school year? 🎒📚

Project Fresh Start's Backpack Blitz & Resource Roundup is happening Saturday, August 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Southview Middle School!

Ankeny students in PreK-12 can receive free backpacks and school supplies while supplies last. No pre-registration is required—items will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Families can also connect with local organizations and community resources at the Resource Roundup.

Ankeny families, this is an amazing opportunity!

Thanks to a State of Iowa grant, Terrace Learning Center and Creative Kids Learning Center are partnering to offer full-time child care with preschool for just $150/week for eligible 4-year-olds enrolled at Terrace this fall.

✔️ Transportation to and from Terrace
✔️ Wraparound care (6:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.)
✔️ Meals and snacks
