One of the greatest joys of teaching is watching students grow from their very first lesson to the moment they're ready to pursue the next step in their musical journey.
This past week, one graduating senior spent time refining her audition piece in preparation for her college musical audition. These final coaching sessions focused not only on vocal technique, but also on artistry, confidence, and communicating the story behind every song.

Voice lessons are about so much more than learning music. They build healthy vocal habits, strengthen musicianship, develop confidence, and prepare students for opportunities both on and off the stage.

📣Help me welcome our newest teacher! Megan Peña holds a degree in education and has been teaching for 20 years. Megan will be teaching piano 🎹 in Ankeny AND we are excited to have Megan begin our pre-school piano group lessons called Pre-Notes. 👧🏼🧒🏽
Megan has availability on Monday and Wednesday between 2-5. Get on her schedule now and pick your favorite time!

Guitar🎸Piano🎹 Violin🎻 We are registering now for our FALL term that begins August 24th! We have a few spots open for guitar (ukelele, bass, electric, acoustic) and violin. And it’s still a bit of a secret, but we are on boarding a NEW Selah piano teacher too! So now is the BEST time to get on our schedule!

We are a TEAM of musicians investing in each other. That’s one of the things that makes Selah so special. Tonight was fall teacher training. We covered all policies, calendaring, and ways to make students feel special. Then we dove into “off the bench” games and activities that help students master abstract musical concepts!
Across the board from guitar, to voice, to piano, we all chimed in on how to make each studio a thriving place for our students!
We also laughed a lot! It is a blessing to have the team that we do!
