🎥 We are excited to share that Kuspuk School District has received the final film from Bitanga Productions highlighting last school year’s Youth Cultural Heritage Week and Culture Night at Joseph & Olinga Gregory Elementary School.

We are proud to reshare this meaningful celebration of our students, culture bearers, families, staff, and community coming together to learn, celebrate, and carry cultural traditions forward.

We are excited to welcome Marcus Heerdt back to Kuspuk School District as our new Director of Student Success and Wellbeing!

Marcus returns to Kuspuk after previously serving as a Social Studies, Art, and Physical Education teacher at Aniak Jr./Sr. High School eight years ago. In his new role at the District Office in Aniak, Marcus will oversee the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) program, along with other responsibilities focused on supporting student success and wellbeing across our district.

💬 “I’m excited for this opportunity to be back working for Kuspuk and look forward to getting the afterschool program up and running,” Marcus shared.

🫎 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧-𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐 | 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭: 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 & 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬

Kuspuk School District concluded our September In-Service with another meaningful day of professional learning, collaboration, and reflection.

Day 2 focused on using student data to strengthen instruction, with sessions on MAP Growth Reports led by Beth Praska and mCLASS DIBELS K–2: Using Data to Design Intervention/IRIP Development led by Beverly Hardesty of DEED.

Our educators also explored the Circle of Courage – Types of Instruction with Wayne Davies of Corwin, followed by grade-level learning opportunities.

For K–5 teachers, Wayne Davies facilitated a Teacher Workshop focused on strengthening classroom practice and supporting student learning.

For Grades 6–12, Karen Grose of NIET led Planning for Impact Through Academic Discourse, providing strategies to strengthen meaningful student discussion, thinking, and engagement.

As we conclude the final day of our September In-Service, we extend our sincere thanks to all our presenters and Kuspuk educators for your active participation, collaboration, and commitment to continuous growth. These two days of learning have provided valuable strategies, ideas, and tools that we can carry forward as we continue Hunting for Impact and working together to support every student. 🫎📚💙💛
