🚌 Need Alternate Bus Pickup or Drop-Off for 2026–2027?

As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, the Lake Shore Transportation Department has updated its procedure for families who require non-standard pickup or drop-off arrangements for their students.

Please note that this form is strictly for families requesting alternate arrangements, such as childcare or split-schedule stops; if your student uses standard home-to-school transportation, no action is required. The updated form provides dedicated space for multiple alternate stops across the week to keep transit routines clear and consistent.

If your family needs alternate arrangements, please download the fillable PDF form on our website and return it to [email protected] or drop it off at the Transportation Office (8710 N Main Street) by September 1, 2026.

Fill out the form:

Fresh Greens at the High School! 🌱

On Earth Day, the Lake Shore High School Garden Club put in the heavy lifting to install new raised beds and a compost bin right outside the district office building. After weeks of careful watering, weeding, and tending to the soil, that effort is officially paying off.

The community garden is now yielding a fantastic harvest of crisp kale, snap peas, and fresh lettuces. It is a great example of what happens when our students commit to a project and see it through from seed to full harvest. 🦅💚

Energy & Water for our Future! 🦅

Several Lake Shore faculty members spent three days participating in a hands-on watershed professional development workshop across the Seneca Nation Territories. Working alongside environmental partners, our educators engaged in field activities to analyze the energy-water nexus, exploring how regional power systems interconnect with local water systems. Teachers also trained in the Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE) Framework, conducting land-based research that they will bring back directly into our science classrooms.

Our teachers are bringing home innovative, culturally informed approaches to help our environmental students connect science to daily life! 💚

Lake Shore at ISTE 2026 🦅

Our technology integrator Deann Poleon and high school social studies teacher Matt Poole recently brought national recognition to our district at the ISTE 2026 conference in Orlando, Florida! Their innovative interactive history museum project was officially accepted and presented on the national stage, highlighting how our high school students used advanced digital tools to deepen their learning.

In this project, students engaged directly with an indigenous American historical persona programmed through School AI, using text interactions to drive their research before designing their own interactive museum projects using Delightex. This presentation featured across several major event areas, including the Early Learning Playground, the Discovery stage, and the Literacy Launchpad.

We're incredibly proud of our staff for leading the way in purposeful classroom technology and representing our community's commitment to high-impact, modern learning across the country!

🦅 Happy Independence Day, Lake Shore!

Today, we honor the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This is a moment to reflect on the principles of liberty and community that shape our nation and our classrooms. We hope our students, families, and staff take time to appreciate the past while looking forward to the future we are building together.

Wishing everyone in our Lake Shore community a safe and meaningful Independence Day celebration!
