Good News BBQ

Kids worked hard this week end and put on a good show. We took 5th in dessert and 5 in Chicken. Good enough for 25 overall. Not bad for a group of kids going every direction on a busy weekend between football games, parade and fair queen competition. Proud of how hard yall worked and stepped in for each other. A special thank you to Grace Coleman for coming to the rescue to help fill our gaps.

We have added another cooker to the team please welcome our newest member.

Jaxon Davenport is a junior at ACS, where he has been a student since 7th grade. He brings real hands-on experience to the Good News BBQ Team, having grilled and smoked meats alongside his dad for most of his life at large events. Pulled pork and ribs are a couple of his favorites, and he is excited to put those skills to work for the team this season.

At ACS, Jaxon is a multi-sport athlete who plays basketball and football, and he currently holds the school record in both shot put and discus. Outside of athletics, he is deeply involved at The Christian Center in West Columbia, where he serves in his youth group. One of his favorite ways to serve is as part of the youth group’s social media team, and he also helps teach the 3-4 year old Sunday school class.

Jaxon has a servant’s heart and a strong work ethic, giving his best to whatever task is in front of him. He is eager to bring that same energy to the Good News BBQ Team and help the team succeed throughout the season.
