The Angleton School History Center has been created to showcase artifacts and memorabilia tracing the history of Angleton ISD from 1897 to present.

The Angleton School History Center is open every Wednesday 1-5 p.m. and for special events. It is located in the library on the Downing Road site.

Former teachers Cindy Ward and Kelly Griffith remembered the Halloween they dressed up as KISS and shocked all their students...and fellow faculty members.

HISTORY CENTER VISITOR
On a July visit, Taylor Thibodeaux found lots of memorabilia on the softball team she was on at AHS in 2010. History Center is now closed temporarily while some work is being done on the Downing Road site.

HISTORY CENTER VISITOR
When Carrie Barcak Richter visited the History Center in July, she found a 1990 photo of her as the AHS mascot. (History Center closed in August and September)

HISTORY CENTER CLOSURE
The History Center is closed in August and September while additional deconstruction work to remove awnings is done on the Downing Road site. We will continue work on the Old Timers Reunion, newsletter and other projects.

Many of those attending the book signing July 22 also enjoyed touring the History Center. Sherry Cook Summers '78 took photos of items the History Center displayed from World War II, the time period of Hollis Knode's book Waiting On A War.

SUCCESSFUL BOOK SIGNING
Hollis Gustavsen Knode had a big crowd at her book signing at the History Center July 22 - teachers, classmates, co-workers, students and friends.

BOOK SIGNING TODAY
Hollis Gustavsen Knode '90 will be signing copies of her new historical novel at the History Center from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday July 22. Copies are $16 cash or $17 credit card. History Center located at 1800 North Downing in Angleton. Building has Wildcat painted on side.

HISTORY CENTER RESEARCH
Hollis Gustavsen Knode, Class of 1990, did research at the History Center before writing her historical fiction novel based in Angleton in World War II. She will be signing copies from 3:30 to 5:30 at the History Center on Wednesday, July 22. It is located at 1800 North Downing in Angleton 77515. In 1943 barracks were built at the fairgrounds to house 150 German and Italian prisoners of war who were to work in local rice fields.

HISTORY CENTER VISITOR
Daniel Hanson, class of 2002, founds lots to photograph at the History Center on a recent visit. A history buff, he has a huge following on his page Retro Brazoria County where he highlights local historical events.
