The White House Summer Reading Challenge!
We are kicking things off with a very special nationwide challenge hosted by Second Lady Usha Vance!
The White House is inviting all kids (grades K-8) to join the official Summer Reading Challenge.

Once your child finishes their 12 books, you can submit their reading log online. All participants will receive:
🎓 A personalized certificate & digital letter
🔖 A special commemorative bookmark
🎟️ Entry into a raffle for a chance to win a trip to visit the White House in Washington, D.C.!

Our last two Southside Attendance pop parties for the year were celebrated with ring pops sponsored by Communities in Schools. 2nd Grade was so extremely excited when they were announced as the Golden A winners last week and 5th Grade Finish strong this week just like they started strong by winning the Golden A Great Job!

Big dreams start small!
We had the best time hosting Career Day at Southside on Friday. From EMT's, to K9 trainers, NASA, Sax Player, Dow, BASF and more, our students got a firsthand look at so many awesome career paths.
Thank you to our amazing community volunteers for investing in our students' futures! Check out some highlights from our day below.

Southside seniors. Bringing seniors back to where their educational journey started is a great AISD tradition. Today current students cheered on the seniors as they walked the hallways one last time. Congratulations class of 2026!
