Last night’s board meeting was a little emotional for me. Tommy Gaines officially stepped down as he did not seek re-election. Thank you for your years of service and dedication to Angleton ISD. I know serving a community is not always easy, and anyone willing to give their time in service deserves appreciation and respect. So I want to say thank you, Mr. Gaines, for your commitment to our district and students over the years.
Then I was also officially sworn in for my 3rd term on the Angleton ISD School Board, and I’m truly honored and grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this community. I do not take this responsibility lightly. As I move forward, I will continue doing what I have always done and that is listening, speaking up when needed, asking questions, and leading with integrity. I will continue to advocate for our students and staff, and work to ensure decisions are made with the best interests of our district in mind.
This role is bigger than one person. It’s about service, trust, and being willing to do the work even when the conversations are difficult. I remain committed to being present, approachable, and focused on helping move Angleton ISD forward. Thank you again to everyone who continues to support and trust me in this role. The work continues, and I’m ready for what’s ahead.
First and foremost, I want to thank God for guiding me through this journey and for every blessing along the way. I also want to thank my family for standing by me, especially my wife for supporting me, and encouraging me every step of the way. I couldn’t have done this without you.
To our community, thank you for coming out and entrusting me with your vote. Your confidence in me is something I do not take lightly or for granted, and I am truly grateful. I also want to give a special thank you to the people who keep our district running every single day, our custodians, teachers, transportation staff, food service teams, maintenance crews, admin, and security. Thank you for taking the time to come out and vote and for everything you do behind the scenes to support our students and schools.
This victory is not just mine, it belongs to all of us who believe in the future of our students and the strength of our community. I will continue doing what I have always done. And that is serving with integrity, leadership, service to all, transparency, and accountability. I will continue to keep listening to you. I will continue to keep asking the tough questions. And I will continue to keep working hard to make decisions that are in the best interest of our students, staff, and families.
The work doesn’t stop here, it continues. Thank you again for your trust, your support, and your belief in me.

Well… we are officially done.
Now it’s time to wait for the results.
It has been a long, full, and honestly fun day. I’m truly blown away by the support I received today, the kind words, the encouragement, the people who showed up, and those who reached out. It means more than I can put into words.
No matter what happens, I’m grateful for this journey, the connections made, and the opportunity to serve this community.
Now we wait… 🙏
Thank you all again for the love and support.

Taking a quick break from the polls to recognize something that matters just as much, and that is Mental Health Awareness Month.
Mental health is real, and it’s something that affects so many people in ways we may not always see. It’s important that we take time to check in on ourselves and on each other. A conversation, a kind word, or simply being present can make a difference.
I also want to take this time to share something personal. I’ve had the privilege of working in the Mental Health Division for the past 7 years, and it has truly been meaningful work. Starting Monday, I will be transitioning into the Juvenile Division. While I may not be in the Mental Health Division anymore, please know that I am still here and available if you need me.
Let this be a reminder that you are not alone. It’s okay to speak up, to ask for help, and to support one another. Take care of yourselves and each other 💚
