🚢❤️ BRAVO, PURPLE REIGN PLAYERS! ❤️🚢

Tonight, the Purple Reign Players presented Unsinkable Women: Songs and Stories of the Titanic, and I could not be more proud of this cast and crew.

This was a particularly special show for us because half of our cast had never been on stage before. Watching these students step into something new, learn, grow, support one another, and bring these stories to life has been such a joy. There is nothing quite like watching young people discover that they are capable of more than they thought they were. ❤️

A huge thank you to our wonderful theatre alumni who came back tonight to photograph, cheer on, and support our students. It means so much to see our former Purple Reign Players continuing to be part of this family and encouraging the next generation.

And to our incredible audience—THANK YOU! Your energy, applause, laughter, and encouragement filled the room and gave our students so much love tonight. They felt it!

💜RISE & REIGN! 💜
What a wonderful way to kick off the 2026–2027 school year! 🎭
Our 8th graders hosted our very first Rise & Reign Back-to-School Breakfast, welcoming our new 7th graders to the Purple Reign Players family. There was lots of laughter, great food, and excitement for the year ahead!
This is officially a NEW Purple Reign Players tradition! Our 8th graders welcome our 7th graders at the beginning of the year, and on the last day of school, our 7th graders will host a Going Away Breakfast for our 8th graders. 💜
Thank you to our amazing students, families, and team. We truly couldn’t do this without you!

🍓🍋🍒 PURPLE REIGN PLAYERS CAMP 2026–2027 WAS A SUCCESS! 🎭💜
Today was all about TEAMWORK, HOUSE SPIRIT, and getting ready for an amazing theatre year!
Our Advanced Theatre students kicked off the year by officially meeting their houses, getting to know their teammates, and jumping right into the fun! Each house started creating their house posters and spirit sticks to represent their team throughout the year. 🎨✨
And now… THE HOUSE GAMES ARE ON! 👀🏆
This year, our Advanced Theatre students are divided into THREE STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE-INSPIRED HOUSES that will compete from August through Fall Break!
🍓 Strawberry House — Emma
🍋 Lemon Meringue House — Mallory
🍒 Cherry Jam House — Lorelai
Each week, houses will compete in challenges to earn points for theatre skills, creativity, teamwork, participation, spirit, and going above and beyond! And yes… there may be a few surprises along the way! 👀🎭
We’ll celebrate a HOUSE OF THE WEEK and a PLAYER OF THE WEEK throughout the competition!
But no matter which house you’re in, we are still ONE Purple Reign Players family.

We are SO excited for this year, and after today, it’s safe to say the competition is already getting started! 😎

🎭💜 PURPLE REIGN PLAYERS ARE OFFICIALLY BACK! 💜🎭

And what a way to kick off the 2026–2027 season! We headed to Troupe Day for our 3rd Annual trip and had an AMAZING day of learning, laughing, creating, and connecting with theatre students from across the Houston area!

This year’s theme is “Theatre is a Team Sport: Believe. Be Bold. Belong.” And honestly…Troupe Day was the perfect way to start! 💜

Our students jumped into workshops on stage management, Fosse and choreography, hip hop for the stage, theatre games and warm-ups, unspoken acting, production mapping, and voice acting. They learned new skills, stepped outside their comfort zones, encouraged each other, and got to experience what it really means to be part of the larger theatre community. 🎭✨

And yes…there was also plenty of bus fun, laughter, and the continued and VERY SERIOUS business of collecting theatre ducks. 🦆😂

But a team doesn’t happen with just the people on stage. It takes ALL of us!

💜 Thank you to our administration for believing in our students and supporting opportunities like this.

💜 Thank you to our Transportation Department for getting our theatre crew there and back home safely.

💜 Thank you to our AMAZING Ms. Cothren for helping coordinate all the details and making this day possible. You are absolutely part of the Purple Reign team! We couldn’t do it without you!

💜 And a HUGE THANK YOU to our parents! Thank you for getting up EARLY on a Saturday morning, getting these kiddos where they needed to be, trusting us with them for the day, and supporting all their theatre adventures. And, of course, thank you for funding the very important purchases of theatre ducks and Chick-fil-A. 😂🦆🐔 We appreciate you more than you know!

We also loved getting to see our former Purple Reign Players president and alum, Alyssa, who is now continuing her theatre journey at Santa Fe! Once a Purple Reign Player, always part of the theatre family. 💜🎭

What an incredible day with an incredible team!

This morning, our Purple Reign Players 7th graders hosted a sweet donut and signing party for our amazing 8th graders as they prepare to head off to high school next year. 💜✨

These students have truly left their mark—not only on our hearts, but on our wall too (literally!). There were big emotions, big hugs, and even a few tears as we celebrated this incredibly special group of thespians.

We are so proud of all they’ve accomplished and so excited for what’s ahead, but oh, how we are going to miss them. Once a Purple Reign Player, always a Purple Reign Player. 💜🎭
