Build those creative skills with North Carolina artist and teacher, Julie Niskanen Skolozynski. A perfect opportunity for homeschoolers, after-school lessons, and adults! Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of each individual student, from beginner to advanced. We focus on elements such as design/composition, shading, color, and perspective in a variety of techniques. Come explore your creative
side! Classes are designed for each student’s experience and preferences. Here’s what you can learn:
- Drawing (graphite, charcoal, pastels, colored pencils, etc.). Creative drawing assignments, drawing from life/observation, elements of composition, texture, shading, etc.
- Painting (acrylic, watercolor, and oils)
- Printmaking (woodcut/linocut & monotype prints)
- Art history – learn about the masters – their lives, styles, historic trends and influences
- Portfolio preparation: build and enhance your portfolio for applying to university art programs
Art lessons are held at Rooster’s Crow Art Studio in Angier, NC. Please contact Julie for available times. Art supplies are provided. Available classes:
- Private lessons (youth or adults) are $40 for an hour and a half
- Group lessons (youth or adult) are $20 per student for a 1 ½ hour lesson (up to 6 students).
- Home school classes are available for different size and age groups. Contact Julie for details.
