Foam Injection Metering Module (FIMM) developed for FDNY now in use by several fire departments.

Here, the FIMM is taking 30 gpm concentrate from a slightly modified, repurposed, concentrate engine having foam concentrate in its booster tank. Concentrate rig pumps concentrate to receiving rig with FIMM attached to its aux. intake at 15-20 psi greater than engine’s residual water pressure. Meter is adjusted to engine’s discharge flow.

Hydrant is dressed with a check valve to prevent solution from contaminating city water system should water discharge to monitor be shut before the FIMM.

Foam trailer is used for its monitors after tanks are emptied. System can be used with tower or ladder truck fed by FIMM engine.
