💗 A HUGE THANK YOU to our amazing PTG! 💗

What a way to start our Friday! 🥤✨ Our Parent Teacher Group surprised our teachers this morning by treating us to Thirsty Mobile Beverage Co., and it was exactly the pick-me-up we needed!

There were lots of smiles, happy teachers, and delicious drinks all around. 💕 It means so much to know that our PTG is always thinking of our staff and finding little ways to make us feel appreciated.

📣 RAIDER FAMILIES — HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING AT HCMS! ❤️💛🖤

We had a GREAT first week of school, and we are excited to head into our first full week! Please take a few minutes to review these important updates and upcoming dates.

💻 CHROMEBOOK LIABILITY AGREEMENTS
Students must have a completed Electronic Device/Liability Agreement before they can be issued a Chromebook. If you have already completed the agreement, you do not need to complete it again.

📵 YONDR POUCHES
Students will be issued their Yondr pouches beginning Monday, August 17. Please review the information that has been shared regarding expectations and procedures.

👕 STUDENT DRESS CODE
Please review the HCMS Student Dress Code with your Raider. Students are expected to follow schoolwide dress code expectations each day.

• Cheerleading: August 17–19 | 2:45–5:00 PM
• Volleyball: August 19–21 | 2:45–5:00 PM

Students trying out must have a current Aktivate account and sports physical uploaded before tryouts.

We are excited to welcome our HCMS families to Open House tomorrow evening! We know there is A LOT of information as we prepare for a new school year, so here are the important things to know. 👇

🏫 HCMS OPEN HOUSE
📅 Monday, August 10
⏰ 5:00–7:00 PM

Students and families will be able to pick up class schedules, get bus information, meet teachers, complete the Electronic Device Agreement, get help with Aktivate accounts for athletics, and more!

🚗 PARKING & ENTRANCE

Please park in either the side staff parking lot or bus parking lot. Parents and students should enter through the two sidewalk entrances from the staff parking lot and follow the “ENTER HERE” signs.

🚫 Please DO NOT enter through the main entrance for Open House.

HCMS staff will be positioned throughout the building to help families find their way and answer questions.

💻 CHROMEBOOK REMINDER

Students must have a completed Electronic Device Agreement before receiving a Chromebook. Chromebook distribution is expected during the week of August 17.

Chromebooks will remain at school and will be used for teacher-directed instruction, iReady, ALEKS, and school, district, and state assessments. Students will be responsible for damages to their assigned device.

🎒 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL — WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12!

🚗 Carpool students may enter beginning at 7:10 AM.
🔔 The tardy bell rings at 7:45 AM.

Please allow extra time during the first several days as everyone adjusts to arrival procedures, traffic, and bus routes.

📵 YONDR POUCHES

HCMS will begin using Yondr pouches for the 2026–2027 school year. Students will receive their pouches on Monday, August 17. Mrs. Black will meet with students on the first day of school to review expectations and procedures.

Students wishing to try out for an athletic team must have a current Aktivate account AND current sports physical uploaded before the first day of tryouts. Coach Thomas will be available during Open House to assist families with Raider Athletics questions.

👕 HCMS SPIRIT WEAR

Our HCMS spirit wear stores are open through Wednesday, August 19! A portion of sales supports HCMS Athletics, including field maintenance, equipment, and uniforms. ❤️💛

💛❤️ Once a Raider, Always a Raider ❤️💛

As we wrap up another school year at Harnett Central Middle School, we pause to celebrate, thank, and honor some very special members of our Raider family.

🎓 A huge congratulations to Mallory Young for being named Campbell University’s Student Teacher of the Year! We are beyond proud of you and so excited that you will continue your journey with us here at HCMS. Your future is so bright, and our students are lucky to have you!

🌼 Happy Retirement to Mrs. Morrow! Thank you for your years of dedication, love, and service to our school community. You have made an impact on so many lives, and while you will be greatly missed, we wish you endless joy in this next chapter.

❤️ And to Mr. Barroza — thank you for your service, dedication, and the positive impact you have made at HCMS over the past 5 years. Your kindness, hard work, and love for our students will truly be missed. Thank you for all you have poured into our Raider family.

It is never easy saying goodbye, but we are so thankful for the memories, the service, and the difference each of you have made.
