Our 5th graders have been getting hands-on with Patterns of Earth and Sky!

We’ve been investigating some BIG questions: Why do shadows change throughout the day? Why don’t we see stars during the daytime? And why do different stars and constellations appear in the night sky?

Students used globes and flashlights to model Earth and the Sun, rotating the globes to investigate how Earth’s spin causes patterns in the length and direction of shadows.

They also used our illuminated globes to explore the night sky and constellations, helping them connect what they see in the sky to Earth’s position and movement.

Today we’re celebrating WRES Principal Angela Kennedy!

We asked our principals what they love most about leading their schools. Mrs. Kennedy shared:

“I love being the principal of a positive and supportive school family that promotes meaningful connections and instills strong values in our students. Guiding and supporting our students as they learn, grow, and succeed is truly our purpose and our mission.”

Thank you, Mrs. Kennedy, for your leadership & dedication to the students, staff, & families of Wesley Ray Elementary! 🦅

Being an educator means teaching our students to care, give, and make a difference beyond the classroom. ❤️

Wesley Ray is incredibly honored to receive a Top Donator Award for the St. Jude 5K Walk/Run! 🏃‍♀️🎗️

St. Jude’s mission is especially close to our hearts because every child deserves the chance to grow, learn, dream, and simply be a kid. As an educator, we are proud to use our voices and hearts to support such an incredible cause.

Grateful for everyone who donated, supported, shared, and helped make this possible. 🥹❤️

For the kids. For the families. For St. Jude. 🎗️✨
