Andrews HS hosted a 1A-4A Region Choir Camp on Saturday. We had over 160 students and 20 adults from the Midland/Odessa Region and the Lubbock Region - Andrews HS, Brownfield HS, Clyde HS, Compass Academy, Liberty HS, Monahans HS, Seminole HS, Shallowater HS, Slaton HS, Snyder HS, and Sweetwater HS.

It was a great day of learning notes and rhythms, meeting new directors and students, discussing rehearsal and audition tips, and making music!

Thanks to the directors who brought their students, those who helped lead the students in sectionals and group rehearsal, serve pizza, clean up, and ALLLL the other things that were done. Good luck to all the students who are beginning the TMEA All-State process.

PROUD PARENTS MOMENT!!!

Korin VanZandt, daughter of Whitney and Kade Ellison, and Bryson Matlock, son of Michael and Summer Matlock, performed with the TCDA MS/JH All-State Choir in San Antonio. They earned this honor through a recorded audition…competing against 1,100 other students.

These AMS Choir members performed with the TCDA MS/JH All-State Choir. They submitted a recorded audition and were selected against 1,100 other students. Participants must have completed 6th, 7th, or 8th grades to be considered.

They performed at the Texas Choral Directors Association Convention in San Antonio on Saturday, July 18.

It’s OFFICIAL!!

We are excited to introduce Cooper Trolinger as the new Andrews Middle School Assistant Choir Director.

Mr. Trolinger was the director at Compass Academy in Odessa last year. He is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University and Pampa High School.
