This popped up on my feed today and I thought you guys might like to see it—school history!

On this day in 1789, George Washington visited Andover stopping for breakfast at Abbot's Tavern and the home of Samuel Phillips before reviewing an assembled militia on the site where The Memorial Bell Tower at Phillips Academy now stands. Our 1825 'Washington at Monmouth' painting by the Cincinnati-based, German-born painter George Lang was gifted to the Town of Andover by Edward R. Lemon upon his death. Mr. Lemon was the Andover-born proprietor of the famous Wayside Inn in Sudbury, where our 6'x5' George was on display for many years before he made his way to Andover.

Sad to report the passing of Jay Glynn. Posey reported our loss, having spent time with him in the hospital sharing pastoral care and the support of old friends in his final days. I was quite shocked to learn he was on the liver transplant list and his time just ran out. He was always so vibrantly alive! Hard to imagine how many will miss his jovial demeanor, sharp wit, and keen insights on life.

Hello dear friends. Jay's family posting here. We have been trying to reach out to everyone by phone/text/email. We are devastated to share the news that our beloved Jay passed away on Friday, March 17 at 5:15pm after a short illness.
We will be planning a celebration of his life later in the spring, and will share the details once finalized. Thank you for loving Jay. Feel free to reach out to Jay's sisters
