This month, we celebrate the incredible individuals with Down syndrome in our schools and community. Awareness is important, but acceptance, inclusion and belonging are what truly make a difference. Every student deserves to be seen for who they are and to be meaningfully included in their community.

Let’s celebrate differences, challenge assumptions and continue building an environment where everyone belongs.

🧡 October is ADHD Awareness Month! 🧡

This month, we’re celebrating and supporting the many ways ADHD can manifest.

ADHD is more than difficulty paying attention. It can affect executive functioning, organization, emotional regulation, impulse control, working memory, time management and so much more. And every person’s experience can look different.

Let’s use ADHD Awareness Month as an opportunity to listen, learn, reduce stigma, celebrate strengths and advocate for the accommodations and supports our students need to thrive.

And last, but certainly not least, meet Jenn Shepard, one of Andover SEPAC’s Outreach Directors!

Born and raised in Andover, Jenn appreciates how family-friendly the community is. If her whole crew can’t participate in an activity, they usually skip it, which is why she’s grateful to have found Andover so accommodating and accepting.

And if she could have any superpower? Mind reading! As Jenn puts it, “If you’ve ever had a child struggle with communication, you know just how valuable this would be!”

Meet Kerri Winick, one of Andover SEPAC’s Outreach Directors!

Having grown up in Andover, Kerri says there’s something really special about raising her own kids here and seeing the town through their eyes. She’s grateful for the parents and families who have become her village and loves being able to help others find that same sense of support and connection.

And if she could have any superpower? Teleportation! No traffic, no travel time, and (hopefully) no more running late.

Next up - Karen Berrios, Andover SEPAC’s Outreach Director!

Karen and her son have called Andover home since 2013. One of the things she loves most about our community is how her son’s peers and friends always make a point to stop and say hello when they see him around town.

And her superpower of choice? Invisibility!
