Prairie Creek Elementary PTO

Time is flying! It is already time to think about the annual Holiday Shop. This will begin the Friday AFTER we return from Thanksgiving Break.

Holiday Shop is a little "store" set up in a classroom. If you send your child with money (and state how you would like it used), they can do some Christmas shopping for friends and family. There are a wide range of items, priced as low as 25 cents! In order to make the best shopping experience for students, we need some parent volunteers to help run the shop! You would help kiddos shop, stay on budget, check out, and "wrap" (labeling a bag to the recipient). It is always a fun time and the kids feel so special being able to shop for others!!

Thank you so much for the support and generous donations for a successful fundraiser! This allows us to continue to support the teachers, students, and school in great ways. We will continue to pass out prizes earned this week!

Why do we fundraise for the school??
We raise funds for the school to help enhance the space we have! We had some funds earmarked for the playground for several years. We had envisioned adding to the playground, but the costs for appropriate school grade playground equipment is enormous. Then we began to brainstorm and thought about an outdoor learning space! This outdoor learning space and upgrades to the blacktop were fully funded (and put together) by the PTO. Another thank you to the parents that came out for a Saturday workday in August to create such an awesome space. Classrooms have had great use out of this so far this fall. We are officially ready to add some rocks, and garden boxes in the spring!

Last year, we helped pay to get this mural by the library doors. The kids love it and it helps create such a fun, inviting, and captivating space for our school!

This is always such a fun meeting! November's main topic was teacher grant approvals! This is such a great way to see/meet the teachers and hear all the fun ways the would like to use funds given to them, for their classroom. THIS is a HUGE reason for our non-a-thon! Every grant was approved, let the ordering begin! 🛒❤️

We would love to see YOU at the December meeting (December 9) where we will finalize details of our upcoming Family Glow Dance (January 16)!! 🌟💃

Weekend Update:
We have raised just over $11,500!! The fundraiser goes until Friday, November 14! Thank you to everyone who has supported Prairie Creek, our students, and our teachers! We can't wait to continue passing prizes out this week. The kids have had a lot of fun!

Why do we fundraise for the school?? We'll be highlighting these reasons throughout the week!

One reason we raise funds for the school is to help keep field trips costs down for families. We budget a total of $3000 in order to help each grade with bussing expenses.

We also budget $2500 for technology subscriptions to help enhance learning in the classroom.

Our first round of Donuts With Mr. Vajnar (and Ms. Mick, Mrs. Chapman, and Mrs. McMains) was yesterday. When the students reach $50 in fundraising they get a donut treat!
We will do another round for PreK earners and anyone who reaches the goal next week!

We currently have 151 students signed up for the fundraiser! The first class to get 100% participation with signing up on the website and sending ONE email to a friend or family member (or yourself), wins a popcorn and movie party. Mrs. Oglesby class is currently in the lead, she was the winner last year!!

We've set up a taco bar for Tuesday, October 14! Please have items to school no later than 3pm that day; and we would love for some volunteers to help set up all the delicious food (and clean up at the end).
