Andover Central Middle School

March is Youth Art Month and one of our 6th grade artists is representing ACMS in Topeka, Kansas!

To celebrate Youth Art Month, the Kansas Art Educators Association hosts a display of student artwork from all across the state.

Delilah Andrade and her colored pencil drawing titled "Peaguar's Grace In Nature" were chosen to represent ACMS in this amazing art show! Delilah was also chosen to be one of the association's Youth Art Month Featured Artists as well! Her piece will be on display until March 28th at the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library.

Yesterday, we had a fun visit from Meadowlark Elementary School's 4th/5th grade honor choir. They stopped by to perform/do an exchange with the 7th/8th grade choir.

Our ACMS choir students performed for them, and they, in turn, performed for our kids. It was a great way for the Meadowlark students to see what happens in the middle school choir room! A big thank you to Mr. Bush and the students from Meadowlark for the great performance!!

Science is cool!

8th grade students have been investigating what happens to air that had been cooled and heated. They are applying this knowledge to what causes hailstorms!

The Boys Basketball WSL Tournament wrapped up last night, and what a night it was!!

CONGRATULATIONS to the 7th grade Boys Basketball team on a hard fought win and well-deserved championship!! After an incredible season, they are LEAGUE CHAMPS!! 🏆🎉

Coach Lee said, "The 8th grade team left it all on the court. The effort was there...the shots just didn't fall." Another great season for the 8th grade team who took home second place! 🥈🎉

Way to go, Jaguars! We are so proud of you!!

The WSL Tournament is still going strong and BOTH the 7th & 8th grade teams will play in the CHAMPIONSHIP round tonight at Eisenhower!!

After winning their games on Saturday, here is the schedule for tonight. Both teams will play in gym A.
🏀The 7th grade game will start at 5:00.
🏀The 8th grade game will follow at 6:15

Good Monday Morning, Jaguar Nation!!

It may be a bit cloudy outside today, but we are full of smiles and sunshine inside ACMS, especially when we get to recognize some amazing students as we announce our STUDENTS OF THE WEEK!!

This week's students were chosen by the Grade Level & Elective Teams! Out of all our students, teachers were only allowed to recognize ONE student from each grade and another for the elective classes. That's a mighty big ask! But they did it!

It's Boys Basketball Tournament Time!!

The WSL Tournament kicks off tomorrow morning! Both 7th & 8th grade teams will play one game.
🏀The 7th grade game will start at approximately 10:15 (depending on games before)
🏀The 8th grade game will start at approximately 11:30 (depending on the games before)

Eisenhower Middle school is hosting the tournament and doors open at 8:30.
Admission : $5 K-Adult, Per League Pricing. Cash or Card Available
