The PV 9-11 Softball All-Stars began its 3-game series against the 9-11 Tallmadge All-Stars this evening (June 26th) for the District 1 Championship. PV wrapped up a commanding opening game series lead by a mercied final score of 12-0 after 3-1/2 innings of play.

Starting pitcher Bella Beight was absolutely dominant tonight. She only needed 62 total pitches to work thru 4 PERFECT INNINGS of play. Yes, she pitched a perfect game! 4.0ip 0h 0r 0er 0bb 10k. The only two Tallmadge batters to not strike out grounded into a 1-3 (P Bella Beight to 1B Addyson Fetters) in the 1st inning & a 4-3 ground out (2B Hadley Hayes to 1B Addyson Fetters) in the 3rd inning.

Beyond Bella's command within the pitching circle. PV put the ball in play this evening with their bats and had timely base running. Harper Drapp led the team with 3 RBIs, followed by Bella Beight, Ava Severino & Eva Martin each with 2 RBIs. Addyson Fetters joined in with 1 RBI. With 19 total at bats for PV, 12 runs scored on 6 hits with only 2 walks and 5 strikeouts as a team, it was a powerful performance in game 1.

The 6 total hits tonight belonged to PV girls, they were: Hadley Hayes (.333) 1/3 - Bella Beight (.667) 2/3 1 double - Eva Martin (1.000) 1/1 triple - Ava Severino (1.000) 2/2.

The PV 9-11 Softball All-Stars (1-0) will play game 2 in a must win game for Tallmadge 9-11 All-Stars (0-1) for the right to be District 1 Champions on Sunday, June 28th at 1pm, location TBD.

The team consists of:
Addyson Fetters, Ava Severino, Bella Beight, Eva Martin, Evelynn Masirovits, Hadley Hayes, Harper Drapp, Hayden Hauser, Haylee Meigs, Lila Fisher & Logan Hummer
They are coached by:
Jake Hummer, Doug Hummer & Megan Severino

Pymatuning Valley Primary, Middle, or High School students who been participating in the Andover Public Library's Summer Reading program and plan to continue reading with their PV log:

PV Primary Students (children going into 1st through 4th) - Your library summer reading log needs to be completed and signed off by a library staff member no later than Thursday, July 9th. You will keep both the library log and your PV log. Turn both completed logs into the Primary School when you return in August. This is a requirement to go on the field trip.
PV Middle School Students (going into 5th - 8th) - Your library summer reading log needs to be completed and signed off by a library staff member no later than Thursday, July 9th. You will turn in both the library log and your PV log to Maria at the Andover Public Library before school resumes in August. This is a requirement to participate in the field trip. Again, your library log MUST be completed by July 9th and signed off by a library staff member by that same date.
PV High School Students (going into 9th - 12th) - Your library summer reading log needs to be completed and signed off by a library staff member no later than Thursday, July 9th. You will turn in both the library log and your PV log to Maria at the Andover Public Library or to Mr. Mollohan at the High School before school resumes in August. This is a requirement to enter to win the $200 Visa Gift Card. Again, your library log MUST be completed by July 9th and signed off by a library staff member by that same date.

Is your PV Middle Schooler registered for Summer Reading at the Andover Public Library?
There is a special incentive for students entering 5th - 8th grade. If your student registers and completes their reading goals, they are eligible for a field trip to Extreme Air Trampoline Park in the fall.

Jr. High Volleyball open gym and camp schedules for June and July. Families can go into Final Forms and complete them at any time. Coaches will be communicating via Final Forms; therefore it's important for them to be completed prior to open gyms. To complete Final Forms, please go to www.pvschools.org.
