Always Take Action - Developing the "Yes I can Attitude"

Since the first class was taught many years ago, the focus of our program has remained the same: to provide students the highest quality martial arts instruction available in a safe and positive learning environment that people of all ages can enjoy. Chief Instructor
Sr. Master Robert Landrum is the Chief

Instructor of ATA Martial Arts. He is a 7th Degree Black Belt and has been teaching Taekwondo in the Andover/North Andover area since 1993. He is the 2006, 2011, 2014, and the 2016 World Champion in sparring and serves as a regional adviser for the ATA in New England. Program Director
Kayla McCluskey is the Program Director for ATA Martial Arts. ATA Tigers (ages 3-5)
Our program will encourage students in a positive environment where they will learn how to listen, pay attention and show respect all while learning the basics of Taekwondo. Our fun-filled 30 minute classes will teach children essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect and discipline. As the child moves up in rank, they will learn more of these life skills as well as developing their motor skills, as in addition to learning how to pay attention and follow directions. Karate for Kids (ages 6-11)
In our Karate for Kids program, we use our motto of "Every kid is a winner, every kid is special" as the cornerstone to teach our students. Students will learn valuable life-skills such as self-confidence, perseverance and courage while learning Taekwondo. Teens and Adults (ages 12+)
In our Teen/Adult program, our high-energy classes will improve your fitness while developing life skills such as leadership and self-control while learning Taekwondo forms, sparring and self-defense.

1. You handle stress differently outside the gym.

2. You stopped comparing yourself to week one.

3. You look forward to it more than you dread it.

Save this to check in with yourself.

Consistency beats perfection every time.

Missing a class here and there is normal. Missing a month is what actually derails progress.

Drop a đź’Ş for progress that isn't perfect, just consistent.

1. Keep one routine even on lazy days.
2. Let them pick one new thing to try.
3. Talk about what they're proud of from this summer.

Save this for the next few weeks.

Most parents wait until something goes WRONG to take action.

Their child gets bullied… THEN they look for a solution.

Their child's grades drop… THEN they try to "fix" it.

Their child loses confidence… THEN they scramble to help.
But here's the thing…

Martial arts work BETTER as a PREVENTIVE measure. 🥋 When your child shows up to school already confident…
Already focused…

Already equipped with the tools to handle challenges. You don't HAVE to wait for problems to arise.

Because you've already given them what they need to handle it.
Think of it like this…

You don't wait until your car breaks down to get an oil change.
You do it BEFORE there's an issue.
Same concept here. đź’ˇ

So if you want your child thriving this upcoming school year…

Instead of just surviving…

Get them started NOW.

While there's still time to build the foundation.

No pressure. No commitment.

Holding your ground physically changes how you hold it verbally.

People who train here notice it shows up outside the gym too — in meetings, in hard conversations.

2. Have I actually given it four weeks?

3. What would future me wish I'd done?

Not a fun question to sit with.

But knowing you could stay calm, think clearly, and protect the people you love — that's not fear. That's preparation.
