Andover CAPS - Center for Advanced Professional Studies

CAPS will be hosting an open house on Wednesday, August 12th. Parents of incoming CAPS students can choose between two sessions to learn about the upcoming year: 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Each meeting will take place in the event space, followed by a brief gathering in your student's strand classroom. After this initial meeting, parents and students will have the chance to tour the building. We look forward to seeing you on the 12th. Students are welcome too!

Brian Gregoire, CAPS Director, sent new and returning CAPS students/parents a welcome email with some important information:

- Open House dates and times
- First Day information
- Dress Code

Engineering flashback! Last year the Engineering strand had an incredible year. Not to mention a 1st place finish at the Make48 competition. The CAPS team came out on top and moves on to the national competition this fall; stay tuned. Students learned to safely use machines and equipment in our lab. We had guest speakers come and share career opportunities. And last but not least, we had students learn to create designs using 3D modeling programs and turned those designs into products that others wanted to purchase. Looking forward to all the new and amazing projects the Engineering strand will create this school year!

As we prepare for the new school year, it's a great time to look back at some of the activities and accomplishments from the Business strand. Two standout projects completed by our students include the Dial-a-Smile phone line and the inaugural Andover CAPS yearbook, reCAPS. In addition, students had the opportunity to participate in site visits, which allowed them to learn about and explore various types of businesses and career paths. And as always, we wrapped up the semester with CAPStone, where students share their learnings and the impact these experiences have had as they plan for life beyond high school. This look back not only celebrates our current achievements but also builds excitement for what the students of 2026-2027 will accomplish!

Hello, SUMMER!
Another incredible school year in the books. This year CAPS students logged 4,731 hours of interning or shadowing. Incredible opportunities for juniors and seniors alike to learn, grow, and possibly pick a future career path. Or maybe just figuring out which path isn’t for them. Have a great summer and see you next school year for more site visits, guest speakers, and endless opportunities!
