☀️ Summer is in full swing! ☀️
One of the biggest misconceptions about education is that learning only happens in a classroom.
Some of the most meaningful growth happens during the summer months—through reading, exploring new hobbies, traveling, volunteering, learning an instrument, playing sports, working a summer job, or simply staying curious about the world around us.
Summer can also be a great opportunity for students to strengthen academic skills, fill learning gaps, and prepare for the next school year. Even a little bit of consistent learning can help students return to school feeling confident and ready to succeed.
Learning doesn't stop when school ends—it just looks a little different.
Every new experience, challenge, and opportunity can teach valuable lessons that help students grow both academically and personally.
What is something your child has learned or accomplished so far this summer? We'd love to hear about it! 📚☀️

🧀 Happy National Cheese Day! 🧀
Today, instead of celebrating the dairy-filled food, we're celebrating all the times our students and staff have cheesed for the camera! 😁📸
Over the past 5 years, Andover Tutoring Scene has been fortunate to see hundreds of students walk through our doors. We've celebrated improved grades, higher test scores, college acceptances, academic breakthroughs, and countless moments of confidence and growth.
Along the way, we've captured a lot of smiles! What started as a small tutoring center has grown into a community filled with hardworking students, dedicated tutors, and supportive families.
Every smile tells a story of progress, perseverance, and success. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has been part of our journey so far, and we can't wait to see many more smiling faces in the years ahead.
Thank you for making the last 5 years so special. Here's to many more lessons, achievements, and reasons to smile! 😊

🔁 Today is National Repeat Day! 🔁
One of the biggest secrets to learning isn't talent, it's repetition.
The students who improve the fastest are often the ones who practice skills over and over again. Whether it's solving math problems, reading passages, studying vocabulary, or preparing for the ACT, repetition helps move information from short-term memory into long-term memory.
Even better? Repeat the same concept in different ways!
✅ Flash cards
✅ Educational games
✅ Practice problems
✅ Writing spelling words multiple times
✅ Teaching the concept to someone else
✅ Taking practice tests
Research consistently shows that students learn more effectively when they revisit material through multiple methods rather than relying on a single approach.
Repetition isn't about memorizing without thinking—it's about building familiarity, confidence, and mastery over time.
What is something you became good at because you practiced it over and over again? Let us know below! 👇

📚✨ Today is Palindrome Day! ✨📚
Today's date, 6/2/26, is a palindrome because it reads the same forward and backward when written numerically.
A palindrome is a word, phrase, number, or sequence that reads the same forward and backward. Examples include words like racecar, level, and madam. Palindrome days are rare and serve as a fun reminder that learning can be found in the little things all around us.
Concepts we learn in school—whether they're literary terms, math patterns, scientific principles, or new vocabulary words—often show up in everyday life when we take the time to notice them.
Learning doesn't just help students perform better in the classroom; it helps us see the world with more curiosity and appreciation. Sometimes something as simple as a date on the calendar can make an ordinary day a little more interesting.
What's your favorite palindrome? 👇

Help your child become a more confident reader this summer!
📚 Summer is one of the BEST times to help elementary students become stronger readers!
During the school year, students are often focused on keeping up with assignments and tests. Summer gives them the opportunity to slow down, build confidence, strengthen reading skills, and develop a genuine love for learning.
At Andover Tutoring Scene, we work with students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade on:
✅ Reading fluency
✅ Reading comprehension
✅ Phonics and decoding skills
✅ Vocabulary development
✅ Writing fundamentals
✅ Math and other core subjects
Our elementary tutors make learning engaging, encouraging, and personalized to each student's needs. We also provide a free academic assessment to identify strengths, weaknesses, and create a customized learning plan.
To help families take advantage of summer learning, elementary students receive discounted summer rates:
📖 30 minutes per week: $100/month
📖 1 hour per week: $190/month
📖 1.5 hours per week: $280/month
📖 2 hours per week: $370/month
A little consistency during the summer can make a huge difference when school starts again in August.

One of our favorite parts of summer tutoring is hearing about all the adventures our students are having! ☀️📚
Whether they're spending time at the lake, traveling with family, attending camps, playing sports, or just enjoying a well-deserved break, we love hearing their stories and celebrating their experiences. Summer is also the perfect time to keep academic skills sharp while reducing school-year stress.
Many students use the summer months to review what they learned this past year, build confidence in challenging subjects, and get a head start on next year's classes. The best learning happens when students stay engaged, curious, and excited—and we love being a small part of their summer journey.
If you're looking for summer tutoring in Andover, Wichita, or the surrounding areas, now is a great time to help your student stay on track while still enjoying everything summer has to offer.
What is your family's favorite summer adventure? Let us know in the comments! 👇

The tutor becomes the student!
When a student knows a concept, but doesn't feel confident in it, or maybe they are missing a single step in the process, they get to become the tutor for the day.
This way, the students get to practice explaining each portion of the material, and the tutor can ask them questions. Sometimes these questions are ones that the student has asked previously, and some of them are spur of the moment questions to guide the lesson.
These lessons are always fun to hear, as they are always full of laughs and great productivity. The students grasp the material so much better afterwards, and now they also have the tools to help their friends.
That is what you see in today's picture! A student teaching her tutor some algebra I concepts before progressing. Some questions that Josie asked brought her student back to basic multiplication, the very foundations of algebra. By the time they made it to the FOIL method, they were speeding through it.
If you know a student that would benefit from fun lessons like this, let us know!
