๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿš’ Fire Prevention Day was a Success! ๐Ÿš’ ๐Ÿ”ฅ

A big thank you to the Andes Volunteer Fire Department and EMS for spending time with our students today and helping make Fire Prevention Day such a meaningful and educational experience!

Our students participated in two age-appropriate programsโ€”one for our PreKโ€“5 students and another for our 6โ€“12 students. The programs provided important reminders about fire safety, prevention, emergency preparedness, and what to do in the event of an emergency.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, knowledge, and dedication our local firefighters and EMS members share with our students. Their partnership with Andes Central School helps our students learn valuable lessons that can keep themselves, their families, and their community safe.

Thank you, Andes Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, for all that you do for our school and community! โค๏ธ ๐Ÿš’

What a great day of learning with the PowerHouse! Our students had an incredible time exploring this mobile tiny-home and clean-energy exhibition from Cornell Cooperative Extension.

The excitement was easy to see as students stepped inside, explored the different features, asked questions, and discovered how energy efficiency and clean-energy choices can make a difference in our everyday lives.

Students were actively engaged throughout the experience, from exploring how a home uses energy to learning about ways we can conserve resources, the PowerHouse turned an important topic into a hands-on and memorable learning experience.

We loved seeing our students learning, questioning, exploring, and having fun!

A huge thank you to Cornell Cooperative Extension for bringing the PowerHouse to Andes Central School and providing our students with such a unique educational opportunity!

Check out some of the photos from today's experience!

What an incredible day celebrating Andes Community Day!

We are so proud to share that the Andes Central School District float was awarded "Most Community Spirit!" ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ

Students, families, staff, alumni, and community members came together to sing and play instruments, spreading smiles, and school pride.

Our Pathfinders club also held a fundraiser featuring ACSD spirit shirts which featured artwork from the Kindergarten - 3rd Grade classrooms, lemonade, and hand-drawn portraits at our Photo Booth. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we raised over $1,000 to support our students and school programs!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, and participated. Your enthusiasm and support made this day a tremendous success. Congratulations to everyone who helped make the float a true reflection of the pride and spirit that defines the Andes Community.

Our elementary students recently enjoyed an unforgettable field trip to the Storm King Art Center in New Windsor, NY! Surrounded by mountains, open fields, and incredible sculptures, students had the opportunity to explore the unique connection between nature, creativity, and imagination.

Founded in 1960, Storm King Art Center is one of the world's leading outdoor sculpture parks. Spanning more than 500 acres in New York's Hudson Valley, the museum features large-scale sculptures and site-specific artwork set throughout meadows, forests, and various outdoor landscapes. Visitors experience art in a way that is very different from a traditional museum, with each piece interacting with the natural environment around it.

Throughout the day, students observed impressive sculptures, discussed the artwork, and enjoyed the beauty of the Hudson Valley. The trip provided a wonderful hands-on learning experience that encouraged curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for both art and nature.

Thank you to Mrs. R for organizing this opportunity and our teachers, staff, and chaperones for helping make this educational adventure possible. We are proud to provide opportunities that allow our students to learn beyond the classroom and create lasting memories! ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸšŒ
