New Covenant School

New Covenant School A K3-12 classical school for Christian families in Anderson, SC. They are able to defend their Faith and stand for Truth in an unbelieving world.

CHRISTIAN
“Apart from Christ, the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom will ultimately be fruitless and empty.” We integrate what the Bible teaches about reality into every area of life, including work, entertainment, social experiences, family relationships, and especially education. COVENANTAL
“Fathers, raise children up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Students are equipped to think and

to witness the Gospel through word and deed. Students develop an understanding of God’s Cultural Mandate to engage this world in every way, influencing it for His glory. CLASSICAL
“Classical Education seeks to produce knowledgeable, capable thinkers who are also effective and winsome communicators.” Through the trivium and integration, classical education focuses on mastery of core academic subjects, developing excellent reasoning skills, and cultivating effective communication.

This semester, our 9th and 10th grade classes have combined for our choir co-curricular. In choir, they will work on the fundamentals of ensemble singing by learning various vocal warmups, learning how to listen, blend, and sing with confidence. The choir will be rehearsing and preparing various pieces of music to perform throughout the semester. We are excited about this new ensemble as we continue to cultivate a culture of singing at New Covenant School!

"Therefore, as we apply ourselves to learning,
may we be mindful that all created things
are your creative expression, that all stories
are held within your greater story,
and that all disciplines of order and design
are a chasing after of your thoughts--
so that greater mastery of these subjects
will yield ever greater knowledge of the
symmetry and wonder of your ways."

We’re excited to welcome Mrs. Rona Kirby to the Lower Academy faculty for the 2026-2027 school year!

Mrs. Kirby is a graduate of Bryan College with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education/Church Music. She is the wife to her phenomenal husband, Rick, mom to six precious and inspiring kids, mother-in-law to both a precious daughter-in-law and a most qualified son-in-law. Most notably, she is Nonnie to two spunky granddaughters, who are awaiting their sibling’s arrival in October.

Mrs. Kirby has been classically educating her children at home for nearly 18 years and will be concluding this journey with the graduation of their youngest child in May. She was drawn to New Covenant School as a way to continue her educational journey and is now excited to walk alongside and support other parents in the education of their children as the 3rd Grade Teacher in the Lower School Academy.

She is drawn to Classical, Christian education because of the focus on a biblical worldview, educating with the most natural skills of learning, and developing men and women of wisdom and virtue. When educating her children at home, her goals were for her children to love Jesus, love his church, and be equipped to share their faith. A classical Christian education meets those objectives. She’s excited about this new chapter in her story and can’t wait to get started.

We’re excited to welcome Mr.Atkins to the Upper Academy faculty for the 2026-27 school year!

Mr. Atkins is an Anderson, SC native. He attended Anderson University, where he is currently pursuing an M.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies. While studying theology, he’s learned that the discipline should inform and shape the life of the student. The student is not a detached observer, but one who must be affected and changed by what is true. He discovered classical Christian education while in college and was fascinated that this principle could be applied to education as a whole. He’s excited to teach the humanities because he believes that they ultimately teach us to know and love God and His creation, including ourselves and our neighbors.

Mr. Atkins and his wife, Marli, have a 10-month old son, Sam. Marli is a homemaker who loves sewing, crafting, and studying art history. She previously was a middle school teacher herself! They’re members of New Covenant Church and can’t wait to be involved in the life of New Covenant School.

New Covenant Academy Parents…Please show your children these beautiful tomatoes from the garden! It continues to grow and produce and we are thrilled to welcome students back in August, so they can see the fruits of their labors!

“O Creator who calls forth life,
May this ground, and our labors
here invested, yield good provision for
the nourishing of both body and soul.

Lord, let our labors in this garden be fruitful.
Lord, let our labors in this garden be blessed.

As we work the soil of this garden plot,
furrowing, planting, watering, and harvesting
may such acts become to us a living parable,
a prayer acted out rather than spoken.”

We’re excited to welcome Sarah Douglas as our new 4th grade teacher in the Academy. She is from Cary, North Carolina, where she attended a classical, Christian school from kindergarten all the way through her senior year. She went to Clemson University from 2021-2025 and received a BA in Elementary Education. It was there that she met her fiancé through FCA. In May of 2025, she went back to teach at her alma mater, Cary Christian School. She will be getting married in August (students will know her as Mrs. Gaskins), and moving to the upstate.

When her job search began, she was pointed to NCS by one of her coworkers, Sarah Allen, who is a former New Covenant School teacher. This was just one of the many connections that led her to our school. She believes God has made it clear that this is where she is supposed to be. She loves classical, Christian education because she gets to have conversations with students about Christ and how He can be seen in every subject. In her free time, she loves to do calligraphy, play sports, or learn new board games. She is so excited to relocate to an area that feels like home and learn alongside your children!
