Anderson After School Anderson After School is an after school and summer care program located in Anderson, South Carolina A nutritious and substantial snack is provided.

During the School Year
We collect students from many schools in the area (currently: Midway, Montessori, North Pointe, St. Joes, Concord, Calhoun, Southwood Academy of the Arts, Glenn View and McCants) and we also have students who are dropped off at AAS. Help with homework is available and indoor and outdoor play is a choice the child can make after required homework is completed, or if parents w

ish, homework is left for home time. We transport our children to private lessons all over Anderson. There is an extra charge for this service and not all requests can be accommodated but we do get most of them allowing our students to get home earlier on school nights. We also have private tutors who work with the children here at AAS. Some of the tutors are sent here by the parents and all we provide is a quiet space. Other are paid through AAS and Mrs. Beard brokers the arrangements based on need. 20 years in Anderson has connected me with some truly awesome teachers. On a school day, our hours of operation are 2:00 – 5:45. On teacher work days and most holidays, we are open from 7:30 -5:45. We are closed on Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after Thanksgiving as well as the week between Christmas and New Years. We open to cover most “bad” weather days at 9:30, however if we have no power we are closed. We post on channel 4. During the Summer
We provide care from 7:30 to 5:45. Each summer we have a theme that guides our activities, crafts and food choices. The children have mornings filled with crafts and free play then after lunch we travel. Bowling, skating, swimming, movies and some once per summer trips that make each week special. These trips include Kakilaki, the Art Center, inflatable water slides brought to the farm, rock climbing, special lunches out at Sumo and the Olive Garden and an end of summer trip to Build-A-Bear. Morning snack and afternoon snacks are provided and lunch can be purchased. Calendars which detail activities and menus are available each week.
