Wendy's Family Child Care Large family child care home Currently a 24/7 child care home with large capacity for up to 14 children. We serve Shasta and Tehama Counties.

Meals are provided at no additional charge. We accept state and local subsidized care plans and provide low cost care to all others.

Our last day of our Ocean Theme! 🪸🐠🌊

Today we read “There Might Be Lobsters” by Carolyn Crimi, a very cute and funny book about a puppy overcoming her fears at the beach 🐶🏖️ We had our own toy lobster as we read, and the kids got chances to hold it and see the book’s illustrations up close 🦞

Afterwards, we had our own beach day outside, tossing around a beach ball and flying an octopus kite! 🪁

Santiago graduated our program today! It’s a bittersweet day for us, but we’re happy that he promised to come and visit 😍🥰
His sweet mom gifted us a Cricut Maker, and they brought cookies for all his friends! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!! We’re sure going to miss our Santi!! 🥹♥️

Today was all about Whales! 🐋🐳🌊
Whales are some of our largest marine mammals, with the Blue Whale being the largest animal at 100 feet long and weighing up to 200 tons! 🐋
The kids got to see and touch a plush of a Humpback Whale- known for how they breach (or jump) out of the water. 🌊 They’re also known for their complex songs, a few of which we listened to today 🎧🎶
The kids also got to try out a small whale rocking chair, which was a lot of fun 😁
Last, we read “Gigantic - The small whale with a big heart” by Rob Biddulph, a cute book about how even the smallest of us can make the biggest of differences 🐳📚❤️
Also- we just wanted to mention Otto’s cute whale shirt! We included a picture of it at the end 🥰

🪼 Jellyfish Dance Party! 🎶😆🪩

We had an under-the-sea dance party with jellyfish umbrellas! 🪼☂️ The kids showed off their best dance moves in groups and solo, taking turns spinning, jumping, and turning in circles while the jellyfish floated along 🩷 It was a very fun time, and great practice in gross motor skills and multitasking as they focused on both dancing along and holding onto their umbrellas 🎶🌂 Great job everyone! 😁

What a busy but fun morning we had! 🖍️✂️🎨 The kids worked really hard, their job consisting of cutting up yellow paper and gluing each piece to their submarines. Afterwards, they finished by coloring in the rest of their artwork 🖼️
The little ones, Beau, Wesley and Bonnie, got to use the glue sticks for the pre-cut pieces, and then colored in their art as well.
They all did a fantastic job! 👏👏👏

“We all live in a yellow submarine!” 🎶😁🌊

The kids boarded our little submarine to explore the open ocean. They spotted fish, coral, and even some sharks! 🐠🪸🦈

Today we read “Mister Seahorse” by Eric Carle 📚
We read about how all kinds of fish help care for their young, from seahorses to rock fish and trumpet fish. The kids loved the painted illustrations and see-through pages 🐟🐠🐡
After our reading time, we headed outside for the kids to paint their own seahorses! Everyone did an amazing job 🥰🎨
