The way our kids are taught is constantly changing! Good news—we’re keeping up with the changes so you don’t have to! 😉

When they come home with math that has you thinking, “Well… that’s definitely not how WE learned it.” 😂 — we’ve got you.

The Owl’s Nest isn’t just a place for your kiddos to hang out until pickup. We’re here to help with homework, reinforce what they’re learning at school, AND make sure there’s still plenty of time for them to just be kids. 🦉💛

School is back, routines are settling in, and there’s still time to make Owl’s Nest part of yours. 🦉

Our after-school program gives kiddos a place to spend those hours between school and home with friends, activities, homework time and teachers who truly care about them.

And when school is out, we’re here for many of those days too with our school break camps! 🙌

The backpacks are packed, the pencils are sharpened, and another school year is officially here! 🚌✨

We hope all of our kiddos, teachers, staff + parents have the BEST first day and an even better year ahead.

It’s MEET THE TEACHER day for Anderson-Shiro CISD, and while you’re meeting the teachers they’ll spend their school days with… we figured we’d introduce you to the ones who could make their AFTER school hours pretty dang fun, too. 😉

At The Owl’s Nest, after school means snacks, homework help, playing, laughing, creating and getting to hang out with two teachers who genuinely LOVE these kiddos. 🦉✨

So go meet those teachers today… then come sign them up with the fun ones for after school. 😂💕

Who knew yoga could get a little WILD?! 😂

Our campers loved practicing Lion Pose, but of course, at the zoo, regular breathing just wouldn’t do. We had to add some LION breathing! 🦁💨

🐅Last day of Owl’s Nest Zoo Camp!

Throughout the day, several kids asked, “How many more camps do you have?” and told us how sad they were that this one was already over. 🥹

And THAT 👆🏼is why we do this.

Today, our campers put their creativity to work planning and recording their very own commercial for Anderson Zoo—with our visitors in mind! 🎥🦁

We wrapped up an amazing week enjoying time together and making memories with new friends. ❤️

We absolutely LOVE seeing how much these kids enjoy camp, watching new friendships form, and seeing their excitement grow throughout the week.

🦁 Another WILD day at Anderson Zoo!

Today we worked hard designing our zoo park map, keeping both our visitors’ and animals’ needs in mind! We called on our zookeepers to share what each animal needs, then decided on the MUST-haves for our zoo. Each zookeeper created a unique map filled with thoughtful details and their own creativity!

And then… we had a surprise visitor! 🐍💚

Mr. Jake brought Delilah, the boa constrictor,to meet us! He taught us all about her, and our campers even had the chance to pet her. What an experience!

We also enjoyed the original Jungle Book movie before heading outside for some playtime and a Popsicle—the perfect ending to a busy zoo day!

But one of our favorite moments came from a camper who has to miss tomorrow. She asked, “Do you have any more of these camps?” 🥹

That says it all.

We absolutely LOVE knowing these kids are having as much fun at Anderson Zoo as we are! 🦒🐘🐒

🦁🦒 Day 3 at Anderson Zoo! 🐘🎨

Another fun-filled day at Anderson Zoo! Today our zookeepers put the finishing touches on their amazing animals, designed our official zoo logo, and researched fun facts about the animals they’ll be caring for.

We also enjoyed one of our favorites—The Lion King! 🦁🎥

Our artists learned some new watercolor techniques, adding even more creativity to our zoo, and we beat the Texas heat by cooling off on the slip ‘n slide! 💦☀️

Tomorrow is a big day as we begin mapping out Anderson Zoo and deciding where all of our animals and attractions will go. We can’t wait to see our zoo come together!

🦁🦒 Day 2 at Anderson Zoo! 🎨🐘

Today was all about bringing our zoo animals to life... and making a wonderfully colorful mess while we did it! 😄

Our zookeepers spent the day creating most of the animals that will fill Anderson Zoo, and every single one turned out unique, just like the kids who made them. We love watching their creativity shine and seeing how proud they are of their work.

One of our favorite parts of camp isn’t just the crafts... it’s watching new friendships grow. Seeing kids encourage one another, laugh together, and build relationships throughout the week is what makes camp so special. ❤️

We can’t wait to keep building Anderson Zoo tomorrow!
