🔢 Big math skills start with little learners! ❤️🖤

At Pineville Primary, our 1st graders are building their addition skills one block at a time! 🧱➕

By placing colorful blocks in squares on a number grid, students are learning to put numbers together and add sums up to 10. It’s a hands-on way to make math fun, build number sense, and turn abstract numbers into something they can see and touch!

Because when learning is this engaging, those little numbers can add up to BIG things! 🎉

🧈🔧 BUTTER, WRENCHES, AND A WHOLE LOT OF LEARNING! 🤩

White Rock Elementary rocked the classroom today with Rock Your School Day! 🚀

As part of a nationwide initiative, teachers created hands-on lessons that took learning beyond the textbooks and brought it to life!

For example:

🧈 First graders became butter makers! They shook cream in a jar until it turned into real butter, learning how a liquid can change into a solid. The best part? They got to taste their science experiment! 😋

🔧 Third graders got under the hood! A local mechanic showed them how to inspect a car, including checking tire pressure. Every student even went home with some garage mechanic goodies, like a tire pressure gauge and a grease rag!

From science you can taste to real-world skills you can use, students got to see how what they learn in the classroom connects to the world around them.

That's learning by doing. That's learning that sticks. And that's how you ROCK your school! 🤘❤️🖤

🎓 THE FUTURE STARTS WITH THE NEXT STEP! 🥧

McDonald County High School seniors are getting a head start on life after graduation, one college application at a time!

During APPLY Day, seniors headed to the library for hands-on help with college applications, with representatives from Crowder College and Missouri Southern State University on hand to help guide the way.

Students were also encouraged to get started on their FAFSA applications, opening the door to potential grants, scholarships, and other financial aid opportunities.

And the best way to celebrate taking another step toward the future? PIE, of course! 🥧😋 The day's slogan said it all: “Now That You’ve Applied, Have Some Pie!”

Whether our seniors are ready to head straight to college after graduation or are still exploring their options, we want them to know they have support as they plan their next chapter. From college applications to financial aid, we're helping students turn big dreams into real possibilities!

Big dreams. Next steps. Bright futures. That's what it's all about! ❤️🖤

💡 A BRIGHTER SIGN. A STRONGER COMMUNITY. A BIG THANK YOU! ❤️🖤

For years, Anderson Elementary's digital announcement sign has been out of commission. Now, thanks to some incredible local support, a new sign is on the way! 🙌

A HUGE thank-you to Goodman Truss for stepping up with a generous $10,000 donation toward the almost $16,000 project! School leaders received the check today, bringing this exciting project one big step closer to reality.

There may even be more good news ahead; additional donations are potentially on the way! ❤️

And thank you to AES Parents Plus, which has committed to covering the remaining balance not covered by donations! 🙌

The new digital sign will do so much more than share announcements. It will display pictures, graphics, and important updates to help keep parents and families connected to everything happening at Anderson Elementary. 📣📸

When local businesses and community members invest in our schools, the impact reaches far beyond dollars and cents. It shows our students that their community believes in them and their future.

That’s the power of a community coming together for its kids! Thank you, Goodman Truss, Parents Plus, and everyone helping bring this project to life! 👏

🔥 OUTLAWS, HEROES & LOCAL LEGENDS JUST TOOK THE STAGE!

McDonald County history came alive today as our 8th graders got a front-row seat to “Spirits of the County: An Anthology of Local History,” an original production by McDonald County High School drama students and their teacher.

Outlaws. Heroes. Settlers. Entrepreneurs. Everyday people who helped shape the story of our county.

Today, our 8th graders watched their high school peers bring those stories to life during a special dress rehearsal. It was a chance to experience high school theater, see the Performing Arts Center in action, and maybe even discover a new opportunity waiting for them at MCHS. 👀🎭

And now, it’s your turn to experience it!
🎟️ PUBLIC PERFORMANCES:
📅 Tonight, Thursday, October 8 | 7 p.m.
📅 Friday, October 9 | 7 p.m.
📍 McDonald County High School Performing Arts Center
🎟️ Tickets available at the door.

Come hear the stories. Meet the characters. Experience the history.

McDonald County’s past is taking the stage. Don’t miss it!

📺 What makes a story worth watching? And where will people watch it?

Mr. Stuart’s Mustang Media students got some real-world answers this week when Priscilla Mace, Executive Producer and Assignment Editor for KSN 16 and KODE 12 , stopped by the high school!

Priscilla gave students an inside look at what it takes to be a local television reporter, from finding the right information and asking the right questions to telling a story in a way that makes people want to keep watching.

She also talked about how the news business has changed, including the growing importance of social media and YouTube in how people find, watch, and share news.

Students heard firsthand what makes a story interesting, how reporters think about what is worth covering, and how to reach an audience in today’s fast-changing media world.

And who better to learn from? Priscilla is part of the team that helps decide which stories get covered on local television, giving our students a firsthand look at how the news business really works.

🎤 Real-world advice.
📺 Real newsroom experience.
📱 Today's media landscape.
📝 Skills students can use right now.

A huge THANK YOU, Priscilla, for spending time with our Mustang Media students and sharing your expertise! We appreciate you investing in the next generation of storytellers. 👏

🚒 BIG TRUCK. BIG LESSONS. BIGGER SAFETY! 🔥

Anderson Elementary second graders got an up-close look at fire safety this week when they toured a real Anderson Fire Department fire truck! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

Our firefighters showed students the truck, talked about what firefighters do, and shared important lessons about how to stay safe if a fire or other emergency happens.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week is a great reminder that knowing what to do BEFORE an emergency happens can make all the difference. Students can learn about having a fire escape plan, knowing two ways out, checking smoke alarms, staying low if there is smoke, and getting outside and staying outside.

A big THANK YOU to the Anderson firefighters for taking time to teach our students and help them become safer, smarter, and more prepared! ❤️🚒

🗳️ Forget the textbook. Pineville students went to the polls!

But this election was about more than choosing student council representatives. It was a hands-on lesson in government, civics, responsibility, and what it means to participate in an election.

Mrs. Scates took student council elections to the next level by bringing in real election equipment from the McDonald County Elections Office, including voting booths, ballot boxes, and even “I Voted” stickers! 🇺🇸

Student candidates followed traditional campaign protocols, while students in grades 3-8 headed to the polls to cast their votes.

Suddenly, concepts like candidates, campaigns, voting, elections, and civic responsibility weren't just things students read about. They were experiencing them firsthand.

Now THAT is thinking outside the box! 📦➡️🗳️

A special thank you to County Clerk Jessica Cole and the McDonald County Elections Office for loaning the equipment and helping Pineville Elementary bring this special election to life!

🕵️‍♀️ WHO DUNNIT? 🔎

Math class got a little mysterious at Rocky Comfort Elementary!

Our Junior High Algebra students put their equation-solving skills to work in a “Who Dunnit?” mystery, solving literal equations to eliminate suspects, rule out weapons, and crack the case. 🧮🔍

Who was the culprit? They had to solve it to find out! 😎

It’s another great example of how learning math can be more than just numbers on a page. Sometimes, it’s about thinking like a detective, solving the puzzle, and having a little fun along the way!
