🌟 August Students of the Month! 🌟

We’re excited to recognize our August Students of the Month: Taylor Anderson from Anderson New Technology High School and Colton Standlee from North Valley High School! 🎉

Throughout the school year, Trustee Adams works with our site administrators to recognize outstanding students from each of our campuses. She also goes the extra mile to select a special gift for each student based on recommendations from the school.💙

A little before and after of the AUHSD District Office summer glow-up! ✨ We went with a bold exterior design to help distinguish the District Office from the Anderson High School campus and, hopefully, make us a little easier for visitors (and delivery drivers 😂) to find.

A big shoutout to our summer painting crew for all their hard work and to Wonderland Signs in Redding for helping bring the new look together! 🖤

We are incredibly proud to congratulate retired West Valley High School agriculture teacher Tom Vazquez on his induction into the California Agricultural Teachers’ Association Hall of Fame! 🏆

Tom began teaching Ag at West Valley in 1993 and spent the next 29 years building a legacy that continues to impact our students and community today. During his career, he transformed West Valley’s agriculture program into one of the school’s largest and most impactful programs and helped create the Bry Walther Memorial Farm, a hands-on learning facility that has served thousands of students.

Under Tom’s leadership, students earned numerous state championships, developed into agricultural leaders, and went on to careers in agriculture, education, public service, the military, and beyond. His impact reached far outside West Valley.

California has been teaching high school agriculture since 1903, and today there are more than 1,100 high school agriculture teachers across the state. Yet Tom is only the 146th agricultural educator inducted into the CATA Hall of Fame.

For nearly three decades, AUHSD was incredibly fortunate to call Tom one of our own. Please join us in congratulating Mr. Vazquez on this extraordinary and well-deserved honor! 💙💛🌾

🎉Our Back to School In-Service was a wonderful opportunity to bring our staff together and kick off the 26/27 school year! 🖤

👏 We recognized staff members for their incredible years of service — including one employee celebrating 35 YEARS!

👋 We welcomed and introduced our new employees to the team.

🏆 And we celebrated our outstanding Employees of the Year, Earl Jackson (Technology Systems Technician) and Steven Whitmore (Ag Teacher).

A huge shoutout to our Food Service team for feeding everyone an absolutely amazing meal — you took great care of us! 🍽️🙌 And a special thank you to Feast Coffee for coming through for us at the last minute and keeping everyone caffeinated! ☕️

We’re grateful for the dedicated people who make our schools such special places to work, learn, and grow. Here’s to another great year! 📚✨

This summer’s Clerical Retreat was all about “building” relationships and what better way to put that theme into action than by handing us power tools?! 😂🔨

We stepped away from our usual work environment and tried something completely different together. We cut boards, routed edges, used staple guns and power tools, and somehow walked away with actual bird feeders — and all our fingers! 🙌😂🐦

There’s something special about stepping outside our normal routines, laughing together, learning something new, helping one another, and getting to know the people we work alongside in a whole different environment. ❤️ It was a great reminder that building strong relationships is just as important as the work we do every day.

A huge thank you to Mr. Jones, teacher of our Building and Construction Trades program, for his patience, encouragement, and for trusting us with the power tools! 😆

Turns out, we’re actually pretty handy! 💪🔨🐦
